I want someone to explain me what was Magellan thinking when he decided to go up against 1500 men with only 49 men? I assume numbers are greatly exaggerated by Spanish side as always? Even the technological difference can't close the gap against these overwhelming odds. Considering the battle held on shore, the water would greatly decrease spanish gunpowder weapons' efficiency and their heavy armours would be more of a burden than a protection. I would even argue that a skilled and experienced Mactan warrior can win against a Conquistador 1 vs 1 under these conditions despite the technological gap.

Magellan's greatest mistake was burning the natives houses , expecting to demoralize the resistance instead it made the natives even more fiercer and furious.
