Oh yeah!! I've been looking for this game for quite a while. It was a game I used to play when I was little and I really wanted to play it again. Thanks! Thanks to you I'll be able to play it again <3

Sad to see SRS being even more dead half a year later. Just 3 series, split on 2 days. Number of people showing up is the same or worse (look at Audi Quattro) The phrase "hourly races" on the homepage has been become obsolote Missed this tuesday, wanted to take part but I was enjoying a singleplayer game too much Nice first race, I may have gotten 5th place with those jump starts

Unfortunately so, having spoken to the bossman himself he fully knows about how things have been going over the past few months, but is still willing to keep the platform running as long as there is some kind of a population still around. Do I think it will ever get back to it's peak? Most definitely not but I think there is still room to keep it alive and to draw back in a steady playercount without reinventing the wheel but we shall see.

I think just 10 minutes of practice in each car wasn't quite enough before jumping into a race. Was most annoyed on the evening in the BMW race - where I qualified in second, then on the start I put in the clutch, put it into gear - and got sent straight to the pits for a 'jump' start 😐
@Ricochet1136 Жыл бұрын
Ouch yeah the classic using the clutch pedal on a car that doesn't have one, will always catch someone out 😅 Yeah neither combo last night was particularly easy but I was mostly familiar with everything so it helped me to jump in with little prep, but I paid the price when I underfueled in the F3 race and had to spend half the race saving lol. That might've been a blessing in disguise though also as it likely helped me with easing the aggressive tyre degradation in the latter half of the race, will be interesting to see how it pans out going forward for the rest of the season!

@@Ricochet1136 Yes, that was why I pitted - for fuel. The AC firm calculator after a couple of laps send wildly out - it's the second time I've been very short of fuel. I hope AC2 is better on that front
@Ricochet1136 Жыл бұрын
I find most of the time the fuel calculation they give is usually fine enough as long as you've run a few representative laps, however it's always good to have an app like ACRL fuel to have a live tracker to see how it's trending.

These are all racing games. maybe you should add that into the title.
@Ricochet1136 Жыл бұрын
I do indeed only showcase racing games here, however the overall discussion point can be applied to any & all genres in gaming. I could've included a couple of examples of non-racing games, but I based these choices off a recent stream I did to have a more coherent narrative & also it's just the genre I'm the most knowledgeable in.

The first game is actually a home port of an arcade cabinet originally tied to 2Fast2Furious.
@Ricochet1136 Жыл бұрын
There was a homeport of the original Raw Thrills Fast & Furious arcade that was sold under the Cruis'n franchise for the Wii, but the version I played on stream is the arcade cabinet sequel made as a """tie-in""" for the Tokyo Drift movie, just running natively on my PC (as old Raw Thrills cabinets quite literally just have regular low-spec Windows PC's shoved into them). Oddly enough they brought all the tracks across from the original, on top of the new Japan-themed levels they made specifically for this version of the game, whilst quite a few of the cars are new despite also not really having anything to do with the movie besides the RX-7, RX-8, 350z & '66 Mustang.

I know these games have a pretty dedicated cult following and I have given pretty much all of them a fair shot, but I'll be honest they've never really hooked me as I feel they're a bit too boring, convoluted and dragged out for their own good (at least for me). I do think some of the spins they put on their games are interesting (e.g the SP battle system) but none of the mainline games have really succeeded in pulling me in and having me play to the end. The only one I sometimes come back to is "Street Supremacy", the PSP spin-off as the whole team territory control premise is pretty neat and handled much better than other racing games that have tried a similar concept (looking at you, NFS Carbon), but this game does also have many flaws of its own. It's also probably the shortest to complete out of all of them once you know how things work which is an extra bonus, as it's all finished before it gets too tedious.

If you're wondering, this is a total remake of the video I put out 2 days ago. After a bit of dicussion in the comments I decided that the video wasn't really up to the standards I wanted so I started again from scratch and put a bit more time into it, and overall I at least think it's a much better thought out piece all around. Also YT compression for the stream clips go brrrrrrrrr
