If you think your working conditions are uncomfortable just think of the guys driving this ship while it's doing massive wobbles. Wow! It is commendable the heroism to fly that helicopter so close to that giant pole on the deck of the ship. I'm sure she has specific parameters on when and how to do this, due to stringent training.

That is a ridiculous amount of skill by all parties involved - especially the helicopter pilot to be able to hover and avoid the top of a tossing ship.

TO EVERYONE, BE ADVISED. AVOID THIS VIDEO!! THE BACKGROUND NOISE THE OWNER WILL CALL MUSIC IS OBSCENELY LOUD AND SUCKS!! What is it with so many videos of excellent sailing, big wave videos ruined, by background noise called music!!!!! Here’s a tip you stupid idiot, go watch some videos that have the same type scenery of either Sail-Boats or Ships in storms. And they have the sound of the ocean of the waves battering the boat and of the people talking. And look how many times that video has been watched and the comments. And you’ll come to learn quickly that videos like this, get far far more watched time than the ones with turd 💩 for brains 🧠 background noise, called music!!!! Go type in Bigwavemaster, video after video of his show the vessel he works on in storms in the North Sea. And not one has been ruined like you, you flat-out-idiot, you ruined this one. This could, and should have been a dead-ringer-winner!!!!!! Another video ruined by turd 💩 background noise you call music. This could have been, should have been, an outstanding video. But oh no, another idiot has to ruin it with shit for brains, back-ground-noise, called music. The sound of the ocean and of the vessel and of the men on board is always 100% better!!!

Awesome job by the Coast Guard but all the risk and expense for a sailors broken arm? Use a splint or make a splint, if the bone broke through surly they have a first aid bleed kit.

C'mon Capt., count the waves, turn the vessel around, go back with the wind and waves, engines on dead slow ahead, have helmsman steers steady....not much rolling, no pitching.....safest maneuvering for such condition
@jamesrae5351
@jamesrae5351 2 жыл бұрын
Helo pilot dictates to the ship's captain the heading to steer to give the helo a position over a clear area and into wind. If sea room is limited then other options come into play. In the clip, the wind was about 45 degrees on the ship's starboard bow which is good for a helo with winch fitted on the right side of the aircraft.

Baffling. Real brave men. But I fail to understand why they sent two helicopters. The second one being there for refueling the first one ?… Otherwise I can't grab it…

This rescue was a long way from land. The second aircraft was there to carry out the rescue if a problem arose with the lead aircraft and it was unable to perform the winching activity. Also ... there is safety in numbers.
