Hello! So I've watched a couple of your videos, mainly spiderman and venom stuff, and I really like the style! I was recommended your channel by my uncle. He says you two graduated together or something. His name is Matthew Craig. I've been working on a gaming channel, and lately I've been looking to get into making a game of my own cuz I had an epic story I wanted to do something with so I decided what better way to bring it to life and he referred me to you about it!

Oh, wow! Yeah, Matt's an old friend from high school. The games industry is a really rocky place right now, but there's also more opportunity than ever to do your own thing. Good luck! Keep me posted. 😃

@cbake76 I'll do my best, it's actually why I came to you in the first place. I've been trying to figure out how to go about making a game. He said you might be able to help me, and that the first thing you would probably ask for was the story.

Hey buddy awesome thing you have going on here, now I plan to become a game developer too, at the moment I am a teen, but I would really love to know about your experience, how was it like working on such awesome and big titles, also what is the best way you recommend to start in the game developing field, like I think I would like to start from creating mods, then working on games and learning my way, btw love some of the games you have worked on like Deadpool, and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and I would also like to know what is your best game engine choice, becauses I was thinking of starting with unreal engine and using blender for 3d things, and gimp for textures and stuff, would love to hear your ideas

Great video, of all these games Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is definitely the one I played the most (along with lego marvel) when I got it for christmas in 2012, I think I even managed to get the DLC Pack that had Deadpool's costume before it got delisted (i did get some of the dlc before it got delisted), still have to get around to playing more of the Activision era Marvel titles, they're just so expensive lol (but I do have a handful including the Deadpool game and Shattered Dimensions)

6:11 Earlier on you say that you worked on the X-Men Origins:Wolverine game,and you clearly seem to "love" that version of deadpool from the movie if this clip is to say anything,but what were the thoughts of other people you worked with on the game about that interpretation if you can remember?
@cbake766 ай бұрын
A lot of "isn't Baraka a Mortal Kombat character?" jokes. 🙂 It was disappointing, but it was what we were given to work with, and at the end of the day we were still making an awesome Wolverine game. It was still a time when studios "improved" comics material by making changes, so it ultimately didn't shock us all that much. If you watch the video I mentioned, you'll also see me talk about the CG ending that's taken directly from the not-quite-final script (the last one we had), where Kayla dies simply by walking into a lake. That had us scratching our heads even more.

Always fun to watch you talk about your time with Marvel. It's amazing to see how many of these games I've played that you had a hand in working on. From the Spidey games to LEGO Marvel, X-Men Origins and Deadpool, I enjoy all of them and still like to play them every now and again. I really appreciate these titles for reprising Nolan North for the voice every time as I don't think I can think of anyone more perfect to voice the character after having watched Hulk vs. Wolverine in 2009. I love that line in Shattered Dimensions where he mentions Kitty Pryde. I got so excited since I was a fan of her and Spidey's time together in the Ultimates. I'm quite glad you guys made that change to Deadpool's character as it made that level one of the highlights. I'm not sure if you know, but there was a rap song made for the Deadpool game by Teamheadkick back in 2013. Plus a music video for it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a2WXiKCLdtumj9Ufeature=shared When the film came around it actually made it in, and on the soundtrack with only some of the lyrics reworked. It also returned for the sequel except this time as an X-Force remix. I always like to see it as the films making a nice nod to fans who played the game along having listened to that original rap even if the song was just fan made.

Thanks for being along for the ride! I still remember meeting with Activision about Shattered Dimensions and reinforcing how great Nolan was in Hulk Vs. -- everyone loved him in that.

THANK YOU!!! 🙂 I just noticed a mega-popular new video making the round right now with over 200,000 views, and its whole thesis is "$100 million for this?!" basically. So frustrating. And it's impossible to pinpoint where that all started.

@@cbake76 YES lmao i saw the thumbnail for tht same vid and i was like no way people still believe this lmao. I didnt even click it. People hated on tht game for no reason esp when it came out. @Enjoyurble6 ай бұрын
@@cbake76 Ah snap, I was looking to see if you had any frame of reference for where the rumors started or the actual budget. I guess the real question is did it eventually return a profit and why there hasn't been a game since. I honestly have been somewhat surprised that they didn't rerelease it and just add an option to have Ryan Reynolds as the lead or push for a sequel that somehow involves both him and Nolan North.
@cbake766 ай бұрын
@@Enjoyurble I really think it comes from the joke within the game. Someone took that way too seriously. It's easy to miss the decimal point here, which leads a game actually costing $750 million+, I guess. But if you look at the decimal point there...$7.5 million is probably much closer to what the actual budget was. (To be clear, that's speculation -- I don't know the number, only that it's way, way less than $100 million.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4TKe2WjaKl5eKssi=NGZUzUQFK2JzHUJe I was never told what the game sold, but Deadpool is technically an X-Men game. This game was Activision's -- meaning Microsoft now owns it. But what they don't own is an X-Men license, which appears to be exclusive to Sony right now, starting with Wolverine. So yeah... not seeing this one revived in any way any time soon.
@Enjoyurble6 ай бұрын
@@cbake76 It makes sense just because rumors spread so weird, but I remember even when I first played it that the joke seemed to allude to the idea that the game was licensed and NOT an (overly) expensively made game, with Deadpool "spending money" to humorously justify it. Not in a bad way. Just that it felt like it was, in my opinion successfully, setting expectations for a game at a No More Heroes level and not a GTA level.
