Wonderful production with gifted singers! Who played Sarastro? He's not listed in the cast list.

Most love Ingmar Bergman's version, but this is really new. Like it! All assembly, and particularly Jessie Dawns. - Danke, merci, grazie, thanks, spasibo, hvala! (Idea for dialogue on English in German libretto... why not, it's claver, funny, and especially good.) And again, Serbo - Croatian: hvala! SOTTO VOCE is a young company, this is group's the fitst production performance over two hours time, and I wish them every luck and success in that world of classical opera. Sretno! Serbo - Crotian, or English: Good luck! P. S. "Sotto Voce" - what is meaning of that words? (in which language; "voco" on lat. is to call, to invite; to name, to greet - but this is maybe other or different).

Thank you, thank you! "Sotto Voce" is Italian for 'under the voice' like an intense whisper. It's sometimes used as an expression and/or dynamic marking.

Yes, thanks for much for your kind words! They mean a lot. We chose "sotto voce" for the collective's name both because we strive for our productions to convey the full range of operatic expression - from the most dramatic and powerful singing to the most delicate and introspective ("sotto voce") - and also because we are trying to go deeper, to uncover what is "under" or "beneath" the voice.

Love it. Classical and opera make for the best, most surreal music videos…and don’t need to resort to being 99% special effects to do so.

This was such a special production to help bring to life! Alex Huddleston's vision for a more modern storytelling style helped clear up plot confusions and nearly eliminated the sexism and racism of the original libretto. It also updated the show's humor and highlighted the possibility for deeper spiritual meaning in the show's darker moments. It was an ambitious first canonical opera for us, but I'm excited to keep developing this "opera nouveau" style with Alex and all our other artists! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more reimagined shows!

You don't hear that your voice has been crippled by teachers. They've gone crazy in their America. This McDonald's of yours is everywhere, this filth is incredible, not the food. Your singing is worse than McDonald's. You're a mouse whose tail has been stepped on. You are like a diver who is constantly short of breath. In 2 years, I can fix your crippled voice. This record made me laugh so much. The way you hold the knife, it's ridiculous, it's fake to the point of horror, at F 3 octaves you squeak like a mouse
