I hate to be this guy but, it's very close to the 323 gtx. Ford of Australia did to that what US ford did to the escort gt with the bp 1.8 vs the bp 1.8 in the protege. It has a lot of smaller things fiddeled with like the injectors, head, intake, turbo. Think ford tuning with ford shelf parts. Also the transmission is different some how, the 323 gtx is glass, my second is crunchier than crunchy black on the rare occasion I need to scoot and theres videos of people beating on those. The front end on the ford looks better imo, idk more 80s

I have the same Truck. You DON'T need to rev it like that. Idal works fine ! Just a bit slower. Also you don't need the engine to lower it. Just turn the key to on. Don't start it.

Can these pass inspection in this state? I know some older cars don't have OBD2 ports, how does the DMV deal with imports like this Mazda?

Yes this vehicle is older than 25 years making it exempt from emissions inspection in all 50 states. Even if they did have to do emissions, with no OBD port they stick a meter up the tail pipe and this vehicle is very clean and fuel efficient, it would pass any kind of inspection. @paranoidhumanoid for registering it in all 50 states there is no restrictions. You can use it as daily driver. If you choose to register it as a "historic" vehicle to get cheaper registration cost - that's when you inadvertantly end up putting restrictions on the vehicle. Because "historic" vehicles are not meant to be daily drivers. But they never check the miles or anything because the DMV just wants money. As long as you pay your annual registration fees the dmv doesnt care.
