Relax mate, I've asked Google Gemini the history of Maldives and found out there is no negative reasons not to visit the archipelagos The Maldives, an island country in the Indian Ocean, has a long and complex history: Early inhabitants: The Maldives were first inhabited around 1500 BC by people who likely came from southern India. Buddhism: The early inhabitants practiced Buddhism. Islam: In the 12th century, the Maldives converted to Sunni Islam after contact with Arab and Persian traders. Portuguese occupation: The Portuguese occupied Male from 1558 to 1573. British protectorate: The Maldives became a British protectorate in 1887. Independence: The Maldives gained independence from the British in 1965 and established a republic in 1968. Tsunami: In 2004, a tsunami caused by an earthquake in the Indian Ocean damaged the Maldives. Modernization: In the early 21st century, the Maldives began a plan to modernize and democratize the country. New constitution: In 2008, the Maldives ratified a new constitution and held its first multiparty election. The Maldives is made up of about 1,200 coral islands and sandbanks, with around 200 inhabited. The islands are grouped into clusters called atolls and extend over 510 miles north to south and 80 miles east to west. The capital island is Male. Some points of interest in the Maldives include: Islamic Center The largest mosque in the Maldives, located in Male, with a large golden dome and Arabic carvings National Museum Located in Male, with a large collection of artifacts, including an 11th century coral stone head of Buddha I visited Male/Maldives many times mate...

Hi Alan thank you for your video, this is the best resort video review i have seen. Which month did you visit the island? Do you think September is a good time?
@AlanLawSydney3 ай бұрын
@@natashawilliams6040 Thank you very much, very happy to hear that you like the video. September is still within the raining season, however, I suggest you should check the website www.accuweather.com for the monthly forecast and see. We did that, and took the chance last minute and it turned out to be brilliant weather for our entire 10 days stay in Maldives in August, except that one afternoon on the island…. ⛈️

@@AlanLawSydney thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions Alan it is much appreciated. I do have one more question… how was the boat ride to the Coco Bodu? I know it depends on the weather but did you find the boat transfer to be quite rough? I ask because I am pregnant and we have booked our holiday for early September☺️
@AlanLawSydney3 ай бұрын
@@natashawilliams6040 Congrats for the baby! We had the same experience as you, it was our baby moon trip to Maldives. The boat ride was a bit rough, 5 out of 10 I would say, we were worried as well, as my girlfriend was 6 months pregnant at the time of the visit. The driver told us to sit at the back of the boat and lay back down a bit so to mitigate the roughness. Worried but turned out Ok. You can watch my other video ‘10 things you must know before travelling to Maldives’ in my Maldives holiday playlist, and you can how heavily pregnant she was back then. I wish you good luck for your trip, have fun and enjoy!

I just roll my eyes! I wish all you newcomers would just leave quite honestly!! Unless of course you will respect our culture here finally and respect our Community the way it has been for decades, but you think it’s normal how you’re behaving. You have ruined our laid back friendly seaside/country lifestyle (within a span of 9 months) and ruined our generally and relatively safe living spaces (I hear ambulances and police sirens more than ever before in the nearly 4 decades I have lived here). You don’t understand personal space, most of you are entitled and rude and you guys have brought with you a huge wave of vaping everywhere (indoors & out) that affect a lot of people’s breathing and health. Also you have brought overcrowding to the central coast and an increase in housing prices far outreaching the increase in house prices in cities. You have displaced a lot of people from their homes because of this. And you have brought with you excessive noise that I have never experienced here before. And, cut so many bloody trees down as well. You don’t respect our culture, our home or our natural environments. I just wish you would all leave and go back to where you came from. You have ruined our home!! It’s been absolutely heartbreaking to watch its destruction.
