It's almost always better to discard think twice. You almost missed a land drop because of the land discard, and you could've then saved bushwack for a fight later on.

The only chance you had in the game against clown was to put +1/+1 counters on some creatures like the wolf and threaten a lot of trample damage before you had to deal with too many flyers. I did some calculating and with one blocker you could threaten 17 damage on the turn you resigned which basically just shows how strong trample in green is with the counters, but you played as well as you could given the pressure you were getting and the bounce. Love your content, and I hope you keep sharing your magic the gathering adventures!

much better play you will see me in mythic if you ever move to standard you have a lot to teach me about risk and that is where I found you so this relationship can be symbiotic the only comment I have on this video is that you are going to want to start hate drafting that is a concept where you know there is nothing for you then simply remove something for them
@MTGPete4 күн бұрын
I don't tend to play all the games in one shot, I wonder how much hate drafting matters in that context but I bet it's not zero How much money do I have to spend to get a viable standard deck?
@OGrimtutor4 күн бұрын
you should have enough cards to start by cracking the packs you have won in draft go to the top left crack your packs then go to decks select format and then craft around your best two colors it's free to play I wouldn't spend any money at first

@@MTGPete I am not being a hater I simply want you to become better the good players will know you don't have a trick because there is no priority there will come a time when you top deck a bomb and it would be great with two spells or you can play three spells but you don't have the mana my point is there no reason to hold back lands unless you are against discard

Just a note: The mage had prowess. You could have cast Fake your own death on another attacking create and get in two more points of damage. It would have survived either way.

Hey pete Long time viewer from the risk channels here (I never catch a livestream because it's in the middle of the night for me) I got into the game a few years ago when i played with my parents (who played at the beginning of magic, we even got some set 2 cards lieing around), So i know the basic stuff about the game. But I don't understand everything. I discovered Arena last year and played a little, but didn't stick due to the slow prgression. I don't have the extra money to buy me through the game. But I returned due to you starting the channel. thanks for that. Now, with the help of the "Join in" gamemode i can finally get more different cards and test stuff out for free. I find the draft mode pretty interesting, but it is difficult to watch: 1. Why do you pick what cards? 2. When do you pick those? 3. why is every deck green/ includes green? I would also appreceate more variety of content (constructed formats, purely instructional videos, or those, where you talk more about the mechanics and intrececes of the game (like in your risk content) With more time I am sure you can make your show an easier experience for newcomers / returning magic players ps: although this may sound criticising, I really like the show and your adventure into magic content. Keep up the good work. Dragon

Your draft was excellent! my only tip is more aggressive mulliganing, the 6th and 7th game having nothing to do turn 2 with your aggressive tempo blue red deck feels bad, and against the rakdos player have some of your early 2 drops would have helped stabilize and let your removal do a lot for you, mulliganing to 6 is really no penalty especially because you get to see all 7 cards, if your uncomfortable mulliganing its understandable, its a difficult skill to learn! Keep up the good work, love the videos and format! You also did great in deck building! every cut you made I was right there in my head going yep I would cut that keep that! Great video once again! related to my previous comment on another video thats the power of "aggro" going 3 two drops in the last game just wins you the game its too much pressure for a slow deck, and with the control you had to back it up with your removal even if they didn't concede they were close to dying. Excellent showing! great job peteman!
@MTGPete5 күн бұрын
Agreed. My instinct to mulligan is weak

As a constructed player (standard and brawl) who dabbles in limited, I like these because you give a lot of the out loud rationale for your actions that you give to your risk stuff. I would watch other formats other than limited. One criticism is the turn around time- that foundations quick draft is down before the video went up.
@MTGPete5 күн бұрын
I prefer the quick draft over the traditional I think I get better picks. Is that crazy though?
@patrick44384 күн бұрын
@ quick draft is great for time constraints. It’s lower risk lower reward for in game currency and drafting against live opponents is a slightly different game than going against the machine based on live opponent (if that makes sense). The auto drafter won’t read signs about you cutting off a color or seeing what’s open after the first pack. I would watch more constructed if you did it. I saw the bunnies and tried it out for myself.

Hi Pete. As a viewer perspective I wanted to give a feedback on this channel. Sorry in advance but I'm sure you know I only have good intentions. It's a bit overwhelming all the 1h+ videos for me. I would be more tempted to watch a 20/30min video and getting right into a game would be nice too, instead of looking at all new cards. Personally I only want to see a match but maybe it's just me 😅 so maybe to please everyone could you split your videos into parts to skip the beginning and get right into the game please.

I have had this thought as well. I wonder if showing a piece of the game is the right approach vs showing the whole game and letting the viewers decide which piece they want to watch?

For deck building, if your looking to play an aggressive deck, you want to play as many one and two drops to garuntee the early board advantage to snowball, into a couple 3's, and 4's rather than having a top heavy deck with lots of two drops, from the draft pool it looks like you can choose a lot of different early 1's and 2's and sticking to two color for aggro also helps consistency and having the right mana each time! Keep up the good work very fun to watch you learn and try different decks!
