Is indexing broadheads important for flight? Such as all vertical or all horizontal. Is it important for them all to be the same?

Thanks alot for sharing this. Maybe we can end this debate once and for all :D after reading the report. But this proves what most of us knew but struggle to quantify without computer modelling :D Personally i dislike the low profiled vanes just because of their "floaty" nature. Lack of accuracy has always pushed me towards higher profile vanes.

I understand your reasoning, but I completely disagree with you. A longer arrow is more stable than a minimum length arrow. Exactly the reason javelins aren't only 2 feet long.

So Bill, Blazer vanes still at the top?
@IXpressThruSaxophone6 ай бұрын
I never have issues with Easton arrows. I do everything right and have been fletching for years. Why do my victory arrows constantly use inserts for no reason?
@jimrice46996 ай бұрын
Bill, I think there is a common, unanswered question for many of us (including one other person below, I believe). When using hot melt glue, Why do you recommend glueing the Broadhead or field point in with the insert as a unit? I am assuming that you feel the bond is inadequate otherwise and as a result the insert might pull out of the shaft when retrieving an arrow from the target. Please let us know. Personally, I strongly prefer to use a foam target that allows my shaft to penetrate through but stop before the fletching hits the foam. Then, I remove the actual Broadhead before pulling the arrow. This technique is especially important when using single bevel broad heads. The challenge with my method is that almost nobody makes targets of that type any more. I have a small inventory of those targets and I think they are all about 15 years old. They actually last longer as Broadhead targets than anything else I've used.

Your arrow length should be determined by what's going to give you optimal spine. If you want your arrow short like they're recommending you're going to want to make sure you're not overspined. Each inch makes a huge difference in spine.

I'm assuming that the collar will be glued in place using this method (instead of using the HIT tool to place the insert). Looks like you can still unscrew the broadhead though?
@IronWillOutfitters3 ай бұрын
@@torreyintahoe when using hot melt you will want to have the Impact Collar in place and can use hot melt to bond the Impact Collar in place if needed. The field point or broadhead will hold the impact collar in place. Apply hot melt to the HIT insert that is attached to a field point or broadhead and then insert. We recommend installing the HIT attached to the field point or broadhead for the best results.
@danbiser53843 ай бұрын
Can your hot melt be used with just the hitt insert? Having broadheads or field points locked in place without the ability to swap them out (without reheating), seems very limiting.
@MikeJones-vb1me6 ай бұрын
I built a handful of arrows about an inch shorter than normal, otherwise all identical components, and the shorter ones are hitting consistently lower than the longer ones. This feels backwards, right? Shouldn’t they be hitting higher as they’d be slightly less weight and drag?
