Loving, over and over again It ain't nothing girl, till you've felt the pain Up against the wall, why does love always have to hurt Your scratches run across my back and then a tear Dear Lover, I can't take the pain no more Dear Lover, I pick my heart up from the floor Dear Lover, I can't believe its come to this Dear Lover, give me one last painful kiss There ain't nothin', in this world for free now So how high of a price will you pay Hear the screams so loud, wake up to the broken glass It's a scene from bad to worse, and many more tears Dear Lover, I can't take the pain no more Dear Lover, I pick my heart up from the floor Dear Lover, I can't believe its come to this Dear Lover, give me one last painful kiss

It's hard to have the same grit in your mid 50's that you did in your 20's. That said, this sounds intentional. I mean they have a hammond organ. Too much distortion would drown it out. Im not the biggest fan of it, but I don't think he doesn't want to play.

gr8latino I usually love a piano, but it sounds forced and is totally unnecessary in most SD songs.

I can liken the clean guitar sound in this version vs. the more distorted sound in original to the clean drum sound in this version vs. Chuck Biscuits drumming in the original.

They put more drive on the amps back then. But I like it the way, they do it today. Heavily distorted guitars are getting undefined. Mike's amp has great punch and smoothness. He was using the SD-1 only for solos ever. Jonny was always playing almost clean. It's not the amount of gain that makes the sound thick and heavy.

They definitely did lay with a lot more distortion on their guitars back then. I'm not sure how I feel about it. When I saw them in june, Mike used the distortion pedal for solos, but not for the songs themselves.

there is a video on youtube from dear lover at 1997. There is a comment that the guitar sound today is to clean, and it has to be with more fuzz in it. What do you think?

You’re looking kinda punch drunk Cuz that’s the way you strut your stuff With a swing and a swagger down the road you go You shoulda made a better choice And listened to your inner voice You gotta get right or get left, don’t ya know I can tell you now; it’s the peak of bad news I can tell you now; that I’ve walked in your shoes Gimme the sweet and lowdown The sweet and lowdown Gimme the sweet - the sweet and lowdown
