Pokey deserves more credit, it does have it's annoying innacuracy though, but that can be worked around. Just listen to X-ray - Zizibum and you'll see how good it can sound.

The waveform itself. It's no pure rectangle. The end of the upper part goes a bit down, the end of the lower part goes a bit up.

@@Classic_Tomfoolery i made all of this myself except the live a live picked bass and the drum samples. the picked bass is from live a live and i found the kick from chrono trigger and the snare from super robot taisen ex. the snare is common in other snes games as well. the cymbal is some random sample i found here on youtube
