I do believe that is Larry Tagg (of Bourgeois Tagg fame) playing bass guitar, dancing with the singers behind Todd and Bobby. I know he played on the Nearly Human LP,.

I dare say I love this a lot more than the studio version. I love the lower pitch he sings in here, and as far as I'm concerned, the absence of the background noise found in the studio version makes it easier to listen to the message he's conveying.

I'm just wondering what made Todd agree to this? I mean I know that's kind of always been the nature of Bill Maher's political shows either with Politically Incorrect or Real Time is to have either three or four sort of news people and then have a guest who is the odd one out usually an actor or musician but not always as if I recall right George Carlin was on there in the mid-2000s and George was always very informed and kept up with everything and Jordan Peterson was on Real Time that one time and George Carlin and Jordan Peterson feel like guests that fit that sort of show where with Todd Rundgren and I'm a big fan of Todd just seems like a weird choice for this sort of show and I would love to know what made him say yes to it. I don't think he was plugging anything major in 99 and even if he was surely he just go on Letterman or any other show if he wanted to plug his stuff on TV.

Todd looks really rough in this video. His eyes look all puffy. He sounds great though!

Saw him that month at the 8/26/78 World Series of Rock, all day show at the old Cleveland Stadium. J Geils cancelled, and the show was rescheduled from 8/6 to 8/26. Todd was contacted as he was in Cleveland performing small venues for the Back to the Bars live LP. Others performing were Eddie Money, The Cars, Bob Welch, and headliners- Fleetwood Mac. Unbelievable day.

I was there as well. Todd & Utopia played a great early set, then off to Chicago for another show at night. Eddie Money & Jimmy Lyons were smoking hot and Fleetwood Mac tore the house down!

My buddy Jeremy(r.ip) was at this show. To this day he’s the only other dude I have met that was into heavy music like PANTERA and musicians like Todd. I’m just grateful for seeing Todd last night with my girlfriend in Cleveland ✌️

I love everything that Todd has done and absolutely adored Utopia. That said, I wish they hadn't used chorusing on the backing vocals. Their voices are strong and it just detracted from it. IMO.

I have awakened the past few mornings with remnants or fragments of these lyrics running through my mind.... when you're all alone... Light of the world.... Anyway I had to google who could have written this? or sung it? as I did not remember but seems my subconcious wants me to hear❤ this song!!!
