This was madness! I guess people are not afraid to pass on a double solid yellow, even with oncoming traffic.

2:46 - Nice capture! I was working at DD during this storm, a vast majority of it missed us, but I remember checking radar and thinking, "Man, Norwich is getting hammered again!" 5:27 - There are times where I'd like to have one of those little mini-pickups for my paper route. Adorable, good on gas, enough cargo space for most of the week's papers, with the turning radius of a mobility scooter. (Seriously, what is Quaker Hill's fascination with dead-end streets that have no place to turn around? 😆) 5:31 - And if you can see bags of trash on the ground surrounding the dumpster at my DD, it's because these jerkwads didn't bother picking up the trash for three weeks. I wonder if this driver was formerly employed with Willimantic Waste Paper, he sure drives like it. 🤣 Maybe he went to Juicee's on his lunch break? (I just Googled, apparently they're closed now.) I remember taking a few friends there years ago, because they lacked cars and I didn't, but I spent the night listening to the radio in my car because I wasn't interested in watching ladies dance, not my cuppa tea. Another time I took a friend there, he left after about twenty minutes because most of the dancers were former Norwich Tech graduates - and that venue wasn't the best place to have an impromptu "class reunion." We used to joke that it was the place to go to "Learn the ABCs of STDs." 5:48 - On the extremely rare times I parked in any city with kids, whether that be with cousins or Godchildren, not only did they enter/exit curbside, but they weren't allowed to even open the passenger door until I had gotten to it. Even if that means they have to slide across the back seat. NO EXCEPTIONS. (The "no opening the door until I get there" also applied for parking lots, I'm not letting them ding someone's door.) Not only did I make this mandatory for safety reasons, but sometimes kids aren't willing or able to exit the vehicle quickly, and if they're taking a long time to get out, it's a discourtesy to other drivers. And mandatory hand-holding, as well, until we get inside; a street/parking lot is not the best environment for "free-range" parenting. 100% success rate. 7:33 - One of my neighbors has a '67 El Camino. It's in almost-perfect condition, but it was no "parking lot car show" truck - he actually put it to work. When he was redoing his driveway... Wow, fifteen years or so ago... He made several trips with it loaded up to the bed rails with gravel. It was squatting so low in the rear, it was SO funny to see. 7:46 - My grade-school band teacher had that exact same Cadillac. Same color, power-assisted convertible, and it was the first car I'd ever seen and/or ridden in with an aftermarket subwoofer and a CD changer in the trunk - which, for 1989, was a Pretty Big Deal. He only drove the car during the spring, and complained that every few years he had to have the entire front suspension rebuilt because it was such a heavy-nosed car. As you'd expect from 70s-80s Caddies, it was like sitting on a pair of extremely-comfortable white leather sofas floating through the clouds, exactly what you'd like to drive on a wide and empty highway at 70 mph on a beautiful day. His daily driver was an '87 Chevy Beretta, which was almost the polar opposite. 8:02 - Sure, it's nice seeing classic cars, but it's also nice to see classic trucks get some representation! I saw a red Pontiac Fiero GT exit the parking lot today when I passed by my Drive Thru window. It looked like it was brand-spankin'-new. Didn't get a chance to get a picture of it, he took the prohibited left out of the parking lot. Nice car, and I've always wanted one, but they're way too low to the ground for me to get in and out of!

Trucks need to do a better job securing items in their beds. A few years ago I hit a cooler that had fallen out of a pickup on the interstate. You would be surprised at how big of a dent something like that can cause, especially at highway speeds.

Thank you for watching! One of my subscribers sent me a video of them driving behind a truck hauling a large shed. It was not properly secured and was hanging too far over both sides of the flatbed. There were no flags or warning signs of being an oversized load. The shed hit a low branch hanging over the road and the shed literally exploded all over the road. It's featured in one of my videos. 1:02 - It's Gales Ferry, there's dorks everywhere. Stay away from Whalehead Rd., a lot of weird stuff goes on down that street. Got a buddy who lives nearby, let me know if you see a Porsche, driving responsibly, in your travels. 😆 6:44 - If I had a dollar for every time someone tried that, I'd have at least enough for two tanks of gas! 7:58 - High-visibility vest: ✔ Orange gloves: 🚫 It's challenging to direct traffic at an intersection, especially directing drivers around an accident scene (you'd be surprised by how many people will defy directions and drive straight through broken glass and debris), but at least the individual directing is hoofing it back and forth as one must do when solo. There's a high trust level that the cars you instructed to stay put will do so once you turn your back, it's like a game of 1-2-3 Red Light. 14:51 - Nice Mustang! Did you hear a sixty-year-old guy rolled his '65 Mustang out in Preston Sunday morning and suffered fatal injuries? 😢 Did you hear about the Jeep Wrangler driver in Salem who hit a stone wall, and a tree, and rolled over, getting ejected from the vehicle due to not wearing his seat belt? We were just pulling up to the scene as Lifestar was taking off, on our way home from an early dinner. Detoured around that, and some knucklehead on a bike by the roundabout decided to pop a wheelie in front of Dollar General, and started to lose it; when he brought the front wheel back down he was on the center line and had to correct quickly to keep from crashing into us! (We were out in Mom's van, so no dashcam, but it was really close - I thought for sure this guy was gonna hit us, fly through the windshield, and end up in my lap!) Can we please have a break from this rain and/or humidity? One day is NOT enough! BLEH!

That poor woman directing traffic at scene had little time using hand signals to try to get the drivers to understand that that they must leave room for the opposing side to get around the fire truck but they kept moving too far up. So she had to walk down where the fire truck was to explain it to them. It was just one of those incidents happening at the wrong time & at the worst intersection. I didn't hear about the accident with the Mustang. Was he racing or just had an accident? Imagine capturing that guy on the motorcycle on your dash cam! Seems I never witness accidents first hand, I come upon them afterwards and capture the aftermath.

5:04 - Driver in the right-turn-only lane choosing to make a left. 🤦‍♂ 6:17 - This is the sound auto manufacturers should use for Forward Collision Warning. It certainly gets your attention! 7:30 - Happens all the time in Norwich... I prefer to use Mechanic St. when leaving that plaza, even if I'm turning right. The traffic light makes things SO much more convenient. The exaggerated humps at the entrance to all businesses in that stretch of Norwich creates so much drama... Traffic is heavy, so turning cars often have to take a chance and gun it - unless they want to sit there for an hour - but they gotta slam on the brakes before entering or they'll bottom out (or they hit it Fast & Furious: Crunch and Cringe style). I love how damaged the exit is at Wendy's from all the cars that have scraped pulling out of there.

0:02 - They speed through there during the daytime, too? Fun fact: Speed limit is 35 mph in the direction you're going, and 40 mph in the other direction. 😆 I drive past that little radar trailer every morning. It flashes when you go 36 mph. Above 45 mph, it blanks the speed readout and shows tiny little alternating red and blue strobes that are barely-noticeable. 4:58 - Thank you for winding the window down. That exhaust note is music to my ears! 5:44 - Let me guess: 104.7 FM WELJ? They play that song pretty often. Which is certainly fine with me!

0:06 - And the City of Norwich wonders why traffic is a nightmare? 0:40 - Ahhh... My internal GPS couldn't place the scene of the wreck... But it makes sense. Early morning hours, on that corner, possible driver fatigue, maybe speeding, unfamiliarity with the road, or driving in an altered state. He should consider himself lucky he was able to self-extricate! I was supposed to go to Firestone today to get a punctured tire repaired, but I decided Norwich on a Sunday was not worth the effort. 😆

It happened on the new bridge at the end of Laurel Hill Ave. He went thru on the furthest side towards the city and down the embankment. He was a younger guy and was able to swim to shore and climb out. His car sunk 23 feet down! West Main St is in desperate need of some road work. People drive like maniacs passing each other weaving in & out to get a car ahead. Norwich on any day is in effort.

1:30 - Because the Bean Hill area isn't troublesome enough, with all the little side streets, businesses, and the Industrial Park all squished together... 2:32 - Can't help but notice the Camry has one burned-out brake light on BOTH sides of the car. 😠$12 (or less) at Walmart/Advance Auto/AutoZone/O'Reilly and ten minutes in the trunk, no tools needed, no excuses accepted! The classic cars started rolling out earlier this year. They were everywhere a few weeks ago, when temps were in the 80s & 90s! MGs, Vettes, Stangs, Novas... After a mild winter, Spring Fever hit pretty hard.

As usual, our state knows darn well when we're going to get precipitation and that temps will drop overnight, and they don't treat the roads BEFORE it becomes a commuter's nightmare! Absolutely ridiculous. I'm white-knuckled on icy mornings as I drive down Rt. 85 through the Lake Konomoc area, because the lanes are so narrow and there is no shoulder to escape to if I, or an oncoming car, lose traction. 6:52 - That is VERY MUCH in excess of the maximum ideal speed for salt spreading. I think I heard a DOT official recently saying 35-37 mph is the optimal speed to get the best spread. He's doing 65 or better! School bus driver must've forgotten they were driving a larger vehicle, especially when running over the curb... Or maybe they were just your typical Norwich Nimrod doing Nimrod Things. The industry is desperate for drivers these days, so I expect bus companies have to be less selective just to get some butts in seats.

I can't deny, old-school Chicago is still wonderful to listen to. And yes, the "Peter Cetera Power Ballad" era is good too, even if some of the songs are overplayed to the point of exhaustion. "Stay the Night" for some reason compels me to drive fast. "Look Away" is still a favorite since it was released, and I was just a youngin'. (I looked it up - 1988) Blue Cavalier is a douche. That car will crumple like crepe paper if it rear-ends you. Beginning in '03 these cars had been lightened up enough that they were pretty much tin cans with wheels, sensitive enough that foot-tapping in the passenger front seat would actually cause the car to jiggle slightly while driving down the road. I've owned a '94, my mom had a '97, both felt solid and handled well. A friend bought a new '03 and he let me drive it, I hated it. Too light, suspension too stiff for "spirited" back-road driving, and they even ditched the hydraulic clutch (my friend tried to argue that Cavaliers never had hydraulic clutches, until I popped the hood on my '94 and showed him just how wrong he was). I was not impressed with his fancy-schmancy new Cavalier, nor was I impressed that he rolled the $12,000 balance from his used Beetle on top of the Cavalier payments - to the tune of almost $800/month! And I love Cavaliers, would get another '94 5-speed in a Heartbeat (...of America... Sorry, couldn't help myself!) if I could find one in good condition. Up here in CT, I've got a snowball's chance in you-know-where! 1:50 - I'm sorry for your loss. Even if it was an ex-brother-in-law... 2:33 - I was safe and sound in the garage/man cave/studio, playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons, hoping it would all be over before I went out to do papers (and that the power would stay on, which surprisingly, a few flickers but that was it). And I was quite happy that the precipitation remained liquid, can you imagine if that storm had been snow? I remember saying to myself a few times, "it sounds like a Category 3 hurricane outside!" 3:13 - 🎵"Flooowwww of the water... Rainclouds in the sky..." 🎶I imagine it was a bit... Damp?... At Sherman St., Indian Leap, and the rear parking lot at Backus! I have a photo - somewhere - from around 2010 where the only thing you can see in that parking lot is the tippy-tops of the blue emergency call boxes. 4:06 - Totally expected the boat launch to be flooded. **sighs nostalgically** I miss Putt's Up Dock. Not only a fun mini-golf course, but amazing to see how efficiently they used such a small piece of real estate! 5:01 - What's my mom doing there? 5:08 - Nope, not her, wrong plate number. Should've known it wasn't her, because the fog lights are on. She never remembers how to turn them on and asks me every time it gets foggy ("pull the twisty-knob straight out" is my scripted response). Stupid Dodge making the stupid headlight switch automatically disable the stupid fog lights every time you turn it off is stupid. STUPID! 5:39 - I'm gonna have to go listen to that song when your video's over. 6:29 - Hey, you're in Waterford! I got my license renewed at the AAA office over there, they're delightfully efficient and very friendly. I assume that's because they're NOT a state agency... 🤣 Yes, people will tailgate you through the parking lot, go around you while you wait for a pedestrian to cross, all sorts of lunacy. Most of these knuckleheads are using the parking lot to bypass traffic at the Boston Post/Clark Lane light, and then they'll fly past the middle school at 60+. On a good day, you might see a panicked hard brake as they spot Waterford PD doing laser/radar. 😄 I assume, by their driving style, they are actually New London residents coming from Bank Street/Downtown area and avoiding the massive traffic backup caused by decades-old traffic light cycles that force everyone to stop at every single red light in town. It can take 10-12 minutes to drive two miles in New London, at 2:30 AM with zero other cars. Main roads constantly have to stop for red lights with no traffic from side roads. Some intersections automatically run the pedestrian crossing signals at that hour. You can drive ONLY half a block, at 5 over the limit, and watch a light go green-yellow-red in that tiny moment of time. Every light in town runs on the exact same cycle 24/7 unless they've set them to flash for snow plows and/or Sailfest, if you adjust your speed just right from the beginning you can hit every light just as it turns green. You can violate CT state laws mandating a 3-minute maximum idling time just from sitting at a red light at Eugene O'Neill (technically Green St. at that point) & Tilley - if you're on Tilley and want to go to Bank St. New London has massive traffic issues, some of it is dummies and a lack of enforcement, but most of the problems they have could be solved by consulting a traffic flow expert and re-programming the lights more -intelligently- efficiently. I'll get off my soapbox now. The "flash freeze" we had after that rain wasn't a joke, either. The last third of my driveway was still seeing rain runoff from uphill when temps dropped, and it became a two-inch-thick sheet of ice on an incline. Each time I left it was "Wheeee!" for roughly fifty feet, each time I came home it was 4WD and a running start in Reverse (60% success rate on the first attempt). Mom didn't leave the house for six days because if she left, she'd never get her van back up the driveway; she'd have to park at the end and walk through the woods. 52°F to 24°F in six hours. Never seen anything like it before. I hit the roads expecting to find black ice everywhere, but miraculously, the streets were bone-dry. For those who are wondering, and also for those of you who aren't wondering, the "flump-flump" characteristic windshield wiper sound is the squeegee blade flipping to the opposite direction, not the motor or mechanical components. "The More You Know" 🌈🌟

Even when the lights turn red on W Main the traffic at times is bumper to bumper and no way are you able pull out. The parking lot that has DQ and King Wah is difficult to pull out of because it's hard to see around the bend. I leave the parking lot from the back entrance and go around it's much safer. I've been down Dunham and Thames St. They did a beautiful job asphalting. I bet the residents & police dept are so relieved. 8:18 - I don't think I'd attempt a left ANYWHERE on West Main, from either direction, unless there is a traffic light or after 10 PM. If that were me? I'd turn right, head on up to -Blockbuster- Surplus Unlimited, cut through the Walgreens parking lot, and back out. Even if I have to wait at the light by Surplus Unlimited, it's still faster! A.D.D. moment - have you checked out how beautiful Dunham and Otrobando are, now that the city has FINALLY repaved them? 😍 8:36 - Hey, fellow Cherokee owner, you need a 3157 (or maybe two) for your front left turn signal! 10:24 - My neighbor used to have a '68, in a beautiful cobalt blue. Absolutely immaculate, except for the bed interior. He was redoing his driveway once and I heard it chugging up the street, I turned around to see Chuck had loaded it to the top of the bed rails with gravel, the rear end squatting just a "little" under the weight. Sure, it was restored and well-cared for, but he put it to work!

2:42 - As soon as I saw Mr. Compensation zooming up around you, I had a feeling he'd be turning left into the DQ plaza. Stereotypical "Norwich Nimrod." Love the crew at Firestone, (that reminds me I need to call them about tires soon). 6:26 - BAD CAMRY! BAAAAAD! Some fantastic classic cars, as always! 🤩 0:35 - Good on them, for closing without power. When I worked in Groton, the day I quit, we were still being forced to sell chicken three hours after the power had gone out. I had to put my foot down and DEMAND that we lock the lobby once it was too dark to see and the emergency lights had already failed. All the battery backups for all the registers were bad, so we couldn't actually ring in transactions, I had to be the one to teach the entire store how to calculate 6.5% food tax with the menu price. I had to be the one to sit there until the power came back on at 10:50 PM, restarting all the equipment, and ringing in every transaction taken that night from front counter and drive thru. We ended up being off only $0.12 in the cash drawer, amazingly. We spent hours cleaning the store by cell phone light... Effing ridiculous! I was planning to quit that night anyway, so being forced to sell unrefrigerated sides, unheated chicken, and warm soda - while telling each and every customer they might want to file a complaint with Ledge Light Health District over food safety violations - was an effective way to sever ties.

However, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being courteous whenever possible, and I think if more people were courteous on the roads, there would be a little less grumpiness out there. 2:59 - HAHA! 3:39 - Someone hit a deer near my street, probably 200-300 feet up the road, about half an hour after I got home from doing papers last week. Deer ran right into their driver's door, someone from town with a white Jeep captured it on dashcam and my mom saw it on Facebook. Minor damage to the outer door skin, the driver was startled but perfectly OK, deer ran off into the woods. Probably the best-case scenario - no injuries, minimal damage, deer lived, dashcam evidence for insurance. 5:30 - "Riiiiide.. Ride my see-saw.. Take this place on this trip, just for me..." I always enjoy a bit of Moody Blues! 6:30 - I learned, many years ago, not to drive near NFA in the daytime, and you show most of the reasons here. I doubt I could remember all the side-street shortcuts I used to know, but sometimes in Norwich you can save a lot of time by taking the least-direct path! 7:23 - Due to well-known, long-term lack of traffic enforcement. It's a bloody free-for-all most of the time. And at 7:41 I laughed, as I would if I were witnessing it in-person, since it was all for naught. He could've gone pretty far if it were late-night when most of the lights are flashing yellow... But not in the daytime unless he's gonna run some reds. 5:08 - You can slow the video all you like, that's Janet Jackson's "When I Think of You." And I love how quaint that house is, but all the windows being different sizes and in different places would drive me crazy if I lived there. 6:16 thru 6:26 - Typical Norwich Nonsense. Everybody inches out into the lane, it always drove me nuts! 7:53 - NOOOO! Those trees were great at hiding the backside of Backus! 😞

That hill in Franklin ain't no joke, especially in the snow. I think I'd rather struggle to climb it than struggle to keep control descending it! (Preferably, I'd take a wide detour down back roads to avoid it altogether, and take my chances there instead.) 4:03 - Oh! That's snow on their roof! I thought they were tailgating something like a white Ford Econoline van. Jeez, do people not know they make extendable car roof rakes to make cleaning off vans/SUVs easier? **mental note, I gotta buy a few of those, I keep forgetting** 6:50 - Great plow job at Chucky's! 🙄 9:27 - Cars ALWAYS do that there. The snowstorm was pretty rough. The fog that came after it was insane! Saturday I woke up, shoveled out to the van, cleared off the van, started the van, went inside, changed and got ready for work, went out to the van, drove to work, found a CRV abandoned diagonally across the entrance to the plaza (attempted to get into the plaza but got the frame stuck on snow, keeping the tires off the ground). I did a three-point-turn in the middle of Rt. 85 and was going to enter through the Do Not Enter, but I discovered as I came through the roundabout that we were CLOSED. _Nobody had bothered to text or call me to let me know I could stay home._ I was pretty mad, raised a stink in Group Chat, and said that I expected to get paid the state's minimum of two hours for food service employees. (Yes, they paid me.) This is the 4th time I have shown up for work to find they had closed and didn't bother telling me, it's the first time I demanded to be paid for it. Sure, it's only 1.2 miles round-trip, but that's not the point! 😠

If you own a truck or suv, you gotta own a snow rake. I've had mine for about 10 years now. Mine came with a wooden handle. The new ones have an extension type handle. I swear by it though, you can clear the snow off you vehicle in minutes. AWD/4WD are necessary if you have to go north down Rt 32 in a snow storm. Actually, it's necessary if you drive in CT because most of our roads are narrow, hilly and windy. True, people should be compensated for showing up to work when they haven't been notified that the business is closed. It also depends on how big the business is. A large business/school posts closing on local channels during or after a storm, then it becomes our responsibility to check for closings.

I purchased a new scrapper from Amazon a few months ago that came with 3 **heavy duty** plastic containers that held 5 blades each. Scrapper blades are not half as sharp as box blades. I'm really stunned a company's thinks that this is an acceptable package for box blades.

It was nice of that group of dirt bikers to wait patiently for traffic to clear. Too often in this state, that is not the case. 2:06 - Whoops, I spoke too soon. 3:39 - I'd love to have one of those little trucks for yard work, but I can't justify the expense. Cute as heck though! 4:54 - If I didn't know that exact stretch of roadway, I would assume by the obnoxious lane change that you were near Hartford, Bridgeport, or New Haven! 5:28 - I thought the driver was waiting to turn left, and had neglected to use a turn signal. The light was green before the clip started, and seven seconds into the clip they decide to move. 5:45 - I may or may not have been guilty of doing this exact same thing many times in the past. Sure, you can let 'em pass you, but make 'em work for it. 5:59 - What ended up becoming of the former Franklin Mushroom Farm? I have so many childhood/young adult memories of Mom and I going there, buying four bags of mushrooms, and trying like hell to make sure we had three bags left when we got home. Sometimes it would only be two-and-a-half. 6:06 - Coincidentally, we often went to the mushroom farm in my mom's '78 Olds Omega, which is the sister car to the Nova and Pontiac Ventura. FUN FACTOID: Chevy Nova suffered poor sales in Mexico because "Nova" is Spanish for "not going." (Remember in the '80s when GM was selling re-badged Corollas as the Nova?) ... ... No "Engel" at the end? It felt so out of place that I had to play it in another tab while finishing up my typing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYWliqqmhtmfa68 I might just end up watching a few more Rammstein live performances, they're THAT good. 🤩

For 5-6 years now I've watched dump truck after dump truck come and go from the old mushroom farm on a daily basis. The trucks leave the farm then turn left onto Plains Rd. I have absolutely no clue as to what they could be building or doing with all that dirt. Thought I do a different ending this time but will probably con't with the old one too. Just so fed up with seeing drivers sitting at green lights on their cell phones holding up everyone else. The driver realized I was not going to wait and started to go as soon as started to go around them. I too thought they were probably waiting to make a left turn. I heard about the Nova not doing well in Mexico. I had a 69 Nova for years. One of the best cars I ever had. Drove it from Oregon to CT. It had a great engine and was in mint condition. I believe it might be still driven in CT. I kept my Oregon plates from it.

FANTASTIC sunrise at the end! I'm surprised the rear camera nailed the auto-exposure. 0:56 - **smh** Some things about Norwich never change. (I've always loved that spot, the church looks incredible when the sun hits it just right, and when framed by the leaves at the peak of change... It's truly picturesque!) 3:29 - I love dashcam-spotting. I've been behind a few cars with dashcams, and I'm happy that more drivers are taking it upon themselves to get one for protection. Unfortunately, I've been seeing mostly the available-at-Walmart and free-gift-from-Foxwoods variety, and their image quality leaves a lot to be desired... But it's still good to see more and more drivers using them. 3:56 - Well, he did get One Car Ahead, and for some people, that's all that matters. lol

All the idiocy on I-395 is, sadly, "par for the course." I can't tell you how many times I've dealt with cars like that white car in that exact same stretch. Either pass, or get back in line, or at the very least, get out of the other vehicle's blind spot! I agree that signage in front of Backus needs some improvement. Maybe the left-most light for the right lane could be shifted closer to the shoulder, or both left-turn lights could have one of those "Left Turn Signal" signs that other intersections have? Nice rainbow capture at the end! It always helps to end videos on a positive note. :-)

2:26 - "I wanna put his tender / heart in a blender / watch it spin 'round to a beautiful oblivion..." How is it so difficult for that driver to keep a tiny little car between the lines? 2:57 - I have a regular customer like that. She's got miscellaneous stuff and trash stacked up almost to the roof of her car... I'm a 4th-Generation hoarder, and I'd be embarrassed beyond words to drive around with my car looking like that! (Can you imagine trying to find one specific piece of paperwork in that stack, or having to explain to a law enforcement officer that it might take a few minutes to dig down to the glove compartment for registration/insurance card?) 3:19 - The driver lost Focus momentarily. It happens to a lot of Focus drivers, ironically enough. 4:13 - The smoke traveling eastward was certainly something, eh? On July 20th, I walked out of work and spotted a beautiful pinkish-orange sun against a gray sky. Tried to take a picture of it with my phone, but digital cameras have a difficult time with scenes like that. Even a 35mm camera would have a bit of trouble unless you start tweaking f-stops and shutter speeds... It's a shame, because it was really interesting to see. The combination of smoke and high humidity made breathing a bit troublesome. 4:46 - "Little GTO / you're really lookin' fine / three deuces and a four-speed / and a three-eighty-nine... Wah wah, wah-wah-wah-wah-waaaahh... WAH WAH... Wah wah wah wah wah..." 4:54 - One could reasonably argue a classic GTO is easier to spot than a Plymouth Prowler. 5:22 - Just a normal day on Central Ave., right? lol

The June 4th storm was really something! You got it worse than we did in Salem. It poured from 5-7 (no thunder or lightning, but it looked nasty over Colchester), and around 8 PM we had a double-rainbow. The whole sky was orange, making everything I looked at around me have an odd tint to it. Hey, it's Agway! We used to get chicks, ducklings, goslings there when I was a kid. I love that they use the old truck for a planter! 6:40 - The best Jeep clip of them all, two of those new "Grand Cherokees" in between you and Red Devil. Jeeps are great, my dad used to have a '68 Jeepster Commando that he used to plow the driveway. It sat unused all year, then the day before the first major snowstorm, out comes the jumper cables, the water for the battery, a can and a half of starting fluid, and he'd get to clearing the mouse nest from the air filter and interior, dump a few gallons of fresh unleaded gas in, and within a few hours have the dang thing resurrected and ready to plow. I wouldn't mind having a Jeep of my own... I was SO tempted to grab a '96 Grand Cherokee Limited, leather seats, sunroof, CD and Cassette, body and interior almost perfect, with that bulletproof 4.0L inline-six... And it was a stick shift... And had 86k miles, original clutch... ONLY NEEDED TIRES AND A BATTERY, they were asking $5,600 in Vermont. If I had the money.......... (But no, I bought the 4Runner...)

I remember my house glowed orange after the storm! The Red Devil was spotted in Norwich yesterday, seen by a couple of family members. What a great history on the Jeepster, incredibly reliable, especially if your father revived it during the winter. Not surprising though, things were made to last back then. Now we have the US of China Garbage.

1:21 - Hey, I used to live right down the road from there - near Fort Shantok itself. It's not uncommon to see a red light run there. 3:30 - I replayed that clip at least half a dozen times, I didn't see that car approach at all. Can't tell you how many years it's been since I've seen Lebanon. Nice town.

It's those late red light runners that are fully aware the opposing light has already turned green but they run it anyway. The woman in the white SUV had to be sailing down that road at tremendous speed for her to get to the stop sign unnoticed before my left turn was complete. I get it, you need to go fast to get to an emergency but you don't have the right to plow thru an intersection without a siren and kill someone. What's even scarier is right after you make that left turn the Lebanon Post Office is right there on the left and when pulling out from their driveway you can barely see past these large bushes to check if the road is clear. Thank God no one was pulling out from the post office.
