How adjustable is it at the low end of output? If you are in a small room and want to leave it on and just have a light haze in the room. The hazer I have now won't turn down low enough to do that

Have you heard about bassboss? Quite pricey, but the power to cost ratio is reasonable according to reviews, that's if your concern is space saving.

Could you do me favor and feed one of the DRM tops a stereo signal via CH1 and CH2? Mine sound odd, when I do that. A huge part of the music, mainly the vocals are almost completely missing. When I use each channel individually it works perfect.

It is soooo fucking bad dude I have the fully paid version this shit speeds my tracks up to over 270bpm on its own allllll the time it crashes every thirty minutes or freezes it unmatches my tracks in the middle of a song even without auto sync or any of that bullshit it gave me a really GREAT first impression and it after three weeks is the worst software I have ever used for anything don’t buy it it is so garbage almost impossible to actually perform a set with and 90% of that possiblility would be based on sheer luck

I'm from Italy and here almost everyone uses RCF/db Technologies sound systems. You can easily find spare parts, authorized service shops are everywhere and they sell fast in the secondary market. Great workhorses for mobile dj's and small bands. Yamaha cabs are rare, and I would like to know your opinion about the DXS-XLF subs. I'm in the market for 2 15" subs (sorry 18" are too big) to match my db DVX10 tops, very interested in the DXS15-XLF. How they compare to the RCF 905mk2 or mk3?

@TheAngrySoundTech Hey, I was curious about @13:33 where you discuss using the MKII's with an external mixer - I was wondering how you connect that external console. The reason being that while the manual states: "For high-level signals (including electronic musical instruments and audio devices), set the switches to the LINE position" regarding Channel 1-3 inputs. This statement clearly leads techs to connect the output of their mixer into CH 1-3, however, the manual then goes on later to state "We recommend that you use this jack if you plan to input a line-level signal from an external device such as a mixing console." in regards to the LINK INPUT JACK. This crucial sentence is at the end of a long drawn out blurb about the Link Input that I believe many gloss over. Further into the manual on Page 19 a chart describe the different input characteristics: The CH 1 XLR Line input is listed as having +16 dBu "Max Before Clipping" whereas the Link In XLR is listed at +24 dBu "Max Before Clipping". This would lead me to believe that the MKII should have more headroom or max volume for you at the wedding dances (assuming that you've been connecting the mixer output to CH 1, 2 or 3 and not the LINK INPUT that is advised). For myself, I'd actually like to use the system for live sound of myself and possibly trio or possible quartet gigs. I would expect bassist to bring their amp in addition to possibly putting a little of their signal into the system as well as micing of the drummer bass drum. Other than that guitar and vocals would be the remainder of the instrumentation. With 2 MKII's I would have enough inputs to leave an external mixer at home but I think the glaring omission on the Mark II is that they have not included a parametric or graphic EQ for the Main Output -- why not? Also, the monitor out mix appears to be a carbon copy of the Main mix -- All you have is an overall volume control for the monitor out. These limitations lead me to the idea that I would of course be better off simply getting a pair of the simplified DLX1K's and using an external mixer with more channels, features, routing etc. So in this scenario where I pick up a pair of DLX1K's I would be plugging into the Left and Right speakers through the 'LINK INPUT JACK' as recommended in the MKII manual. I know that you have said to a previous poster that you do not think that a pair of MKII/DLX would work for a 'rock band' as he called it. I just want to clarify if you have been using the LINK INPUT JACK when using an external mixer - other products do not advise the use of a Link Input and I know there are other KZbinrs who have missed this piece of information regarding Yamaha's recommended practice for external mixers. The DLX's are significantly cheaper than the Evolve 50 in Canada and come with a better carry case and are a bit shorter so will fit in my low ceiling basement for rehearsal without the need of purchasing a shorter column connector (would be $150 CAD a piece for me if I go EV route to use in my home lol). There are not DLX or MKII's in inventory anywhere near me so I thought I would reach out and see if you are using the MKII as Yamaha recommends? There may be even more volume on tap for your DJ use and live sound use if not - and I'd love to hear back from you if connecting the external mixer through the LINK INPUTS improves your outlook on the upper limits/use cases of these Yamaha systems. Thanks from Saskatchewan. New Sub here! - Richard

One issue I've noticed when trying to connect my computer (desktop or tablet) to the CQ-18T is that the connection to the CQ-18T's own wifi signal must be the ONLY connection active on the (connecting) computer - trying to run the computer with multiple network connections, even if one is hardwired, seems to prevent the CQ-18T from connecting to the CQ Mixpad app - the device shows up in the network options list as expected, and the computer will connect to the device in the network connection as expected - but the APP will NOT connect to the device if ANY other network connections are active - this kinda sucks and I'd love to know a workaround if you have one

The serial # was likely the same as the amp board you sent back. They would normally peal that off and reapply it to the new amp board. This is really only done, so they can keep track the warranty activity of the complete cabinet. A lot of manufacturers do that these days.

@TheAngrySoundTech

True if we are talking about taking one 1000 watt subwoofer and adding a second 1000 watt subwoofer on the other side of the stage. The result will be a 3 DB bump. 6 DB if we couple them side by side. But I don't think that same doubling of power scenario translates to speaker design because there's more factors in play. Otherwise, every 1000 watt 12-in speaker cabinet would have the exact same SPL measurement.

Thanks for the correct answer! Geeze, finding someone who knew the simple straight answer "pass through DSP or parallel pre-DSP" was virtually impossible, and the EV manual is ridiculously dumbed down and uninformative. I'm about to pair an ELX to a pair of JBL VRX932. Guess I'll bust out the external crossover. 😕 By the way, using an external crossover in a subwoofer arrangement application won't in and of itself cause classic comb filtering. Classic comb filtering occurs in higher frequencies, where one can see the "teeth" of the "comb" on the display of the device measuring the time energy domain of the room in question. The term "comb filtering" was created by the users of the Techron TEF-10. It happened when they saw their first time-domain representation of 20-20khz time energy frequency plots in an acoustically misaligned space. The sharp bumps and valleys of time energy incoherence that appeared in the higher octaves looked like the teeth of a hair comb. Hence the name, "comb filtering". FWIW, I've been bi-amping live sound since 1977. I've actually used a Techron TEF-10 and seen for real comb filtering right on the display of the device that first gave this acoustical phenomenon it's slang name. 🙂 You young guys have it great. You can do TEF like measurements on your cell phones, while you're texting an order for coffee at the same time. Anyway, thanks for the clear answer on the crossover! You saved me several hours today.

I only saw good reviews of this pedal, but just tried it out and definitely notice the auto-gain issue, the volume keeps going down... I can work with that as it's a recording, but imagine live is a big issue. and I also have a bit of noise/hissing sound, not sure if that's also from it or the interface because I just got a new audio interface as my old one broke. Edit: using a cable XLR in both ends fixed de noise :) I am still testing but reducing the echo seemed to avoid the sound adjusting issue, I wanted it more for reverb anyway, so feel quite happy with it this way

I am involved in advising our church in what company to use. I have done warranty repair on several brands. I knew that Yamaha is an interesting company, their speakers are made in Thailand, and India. Most of the other brands speakers are made in China, and Mexico. I did listen to your reply to advise about RCF vs Yamaha. You did a very good dialogue, My leaning is toward Yamaha. When I worked at a high-end audio store in the 70's I was privileged to fly to Chicago, and attend training with Yamaha consumer electronics. I received a pair of Yamaha cuff-links as a present.

Because players drop thousands on taylors-but leave in the 'crap' ES pickup systems; tear it out. While I use Taylor 6/12 string guitars faithfully; no amount of 'selling' will convince me that the ES system is worthy of anything, except tearing out of the guitar-and putting in a Fishman Prefix or Blender. Oh, you get the 'quacking sound' with the cheap ES system on their 12 strings. Taylor pickups suck on their 12 strings. Drop a Fishman Prefix Pro or Blender into it. Taylor stopped selling their guitars with 'Fishman systems', to cut costs and sell more guitars. The six's are barely tolerable with their ES pickups-but their 12 strings sound like garbage. Don't let ANYONE, including Taylor tell you otherwise. Doubt me? Go find an early 2000's Taylor 12(And six,)-and plug it into a p.a. system. (Not a guitar amp.) My 2004 855 sounds amazing, so why have a cheap, 'it'll do' pickup in it...Taylor sold out with the public; by dumping the Fishman systems, and pushing these horrible-sounding ES toys.

Hello. Could you help me decide? Currently I have a Yamaha stagepas 400bt + JBL eon 618S. I don't really like the sound when I connect it to the subwoofer output on the stagepas control panel. The bass of the jbl eon 618s sounds sluggish (to my ears), as if something is missing (perhaps a kick...) I would like a more lively, fast and sharp bass. Now it is possible to replace the eon 618s with dxs12 mk2 In short, in your opinion, yes or no?
@TheAngrySoundTech
@TheAngrySoundTech 2 ай бұрын
The tough thing about the sub out on a stagepas is that I think it auto crosses over at 120 Hz (check manual to confirm) which I think is a little high. I typically prefer a lower crossover point which usually gives a tighter bass response. I don't know if changing the sub will do much towards fixing the sound. You could manually set your sub crossover at 80 Hz and see if it makes a difference. If it doesn't then it might be the sub and switching subs might make a difference. But if it ends up sounding better than it's just the default crossover point of the stagepas system that is the issue.

Question? I'm strongly considering two of these for wedding gigs. Possibly with an xtra sub if necessary. Love the look, weight, 2 will fit in a small SUV no issue, 90% sound array compared to up to 120% for competition. The ladder larger array size concerns me for wireless or lapel feedback when running two as left/ right channel respectively. Any thoughts? Mackie still doesn't take the sub bag seriously???? 😂😂 they never have! I used to run the SRM450 tops with the big subs from the series in early 2000's. Tops bag was bulletproof, sub bag was as helpful as one ply 😅 Love the honest review! follow up would have been awesome.🖖🤙✌

There are several Taylors, which can be ordered without a pickup. They really are some of the best playing acoustics there are. It's a shame their reputation has been shaped by a $200 piece of electronic, which btw, is hugely misunderstood on its own. Acoustically (unplugged), subjectively, they're beautiful. Buy one without a pickup, and install what you want. You have to do the same thing with most D18's, and many people end up replacing the factory LR Baggs that comes with J45's 🤷. I currently own two J45's and a Taylor 517. As much as I love my Gibsons (more than my Taylor), the Taylor is just a work of art. It plays better, it's more versatile, and the fit and finish is on a higher level.... That's kind of why I like my Gibsons more. It's like the difference in driving muscle cars from the 60's and a new BMW. I have to drive the Gibsons, the Taylor drives me.
