I left "the truth" at 22 during the covid pandemic and never even considered going back. I was raised as a JW but never got baptised and rarely even gave answers or went on the ministry. I just knew from a young age that something seemed off about the way JW's were expected to ignore anyone who was disfellowshipped and I remember it happening a lot even to the grown up kids of elders. I stuck it out until I was 22 just because my dad was a Witness and my mum and sister had fallen away years earlier so I was basically just riding it out so my dad wouldn't get hassle from the congregation if I decided not to go anymore. I occasionally bump into a few witnesses who live near me and we have a chat but they'll never convince me to return to the meetings after 4 years.

I hate what happened to you. There is so very very much of that in the organization. It is 2024 and now so much is coming out about so very very much of child sexual assult that has been going on in the organization. I am glad that it is coming out in the open. I must say, going through the watchtower at the meeting years ago - wedding rings are pagan. At the end of the meeting I expected everyone to get rid of their wedding rings, but nobody saw the hypocrisy. So glad I left that (dis)organization in January.

As an exjw myself, for many years at this point, the biggest struggle I’ve come to realize I’m facing is the sadness and grief of losing myself and forcing myself to become someone I’m not. I have donated blood 110 times over the years. That has helped an unknown number of people. No book changes my behavior on helping others.

It makes me so sad, especially since I've seen his videos, which had been VERY eye-opening to what my mother-in-law went through throughout most of her life. My mother-in-law also watched his videos, and it REALLY helped her to wake up and start healing from religious trauma after being unfairly disfellowshipped for divorcing her abusive ex-husband, getting blood transfusions for herself and her children, supporting, embracing, and standing up for her lesbian daughter, Veronica, and expressing her doubts and asking logical questions about her now-former faith. 😞😓😓 As a non-religious person, and with my mother-in-law being an atheist now, it's very disappointing. It's clear that despite leaving JW, Lloyd Evans still has unhealthy traits and mindsets of a JW he had not let go of. 😞😓

Glad you are free! My family turned into JW when I was 6 and I left home and the JW congregation when I was 18 years old. I was very devoted and dedicated, I even became a full time pioneer! But what really made me leave was high school and the friends I made there. My mother, JW, disliked my friends (people no JW with whom I was so happy with) very harshly and that was it for me. I left and lost my family. They do not talk to me. I am a sinner. But I have no regrets! The best decision of my life!

I'm so glad I don't have family or friends who are Jehovah's witnesses. I can't imagine how that would have felt not being able to talk to them.

Check the Feb 15, 2006 Watchtower, “Walking in the path of Increasing Light”. This article tells us that Jehovah is constantly providing this “light” to his people to “refine” them, “organizationally, doctrinally and morally.” Then it goes on to give us examples of this light, one of which is the prohibition of blood transfusions in 1945. But the technique of transfusing blood successfully was mastered during the First World War. So from about 1916 through to July 1st, 1945 Jehovah God watched his people giving and receiving blood but HE DID NOTHING ABOUT IT! What kind of “refinement” is that?!

Also in review of the fact that these men's doctrines which were unscripturely false, such as refusing organ transplants and blood transfusions, has killed thousands and indirectly caused thousands of suicides involving their disfellowshipping doctrine . My friend, all you really need to do is take everything that you have ever been taught while being a faithful and discreet slave within your tenure of your Jehovah’s Witnesses fellowship, and take the opposite approach with ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING that you have EVER been taught… for example, “Jesus was a created being by the name “The Arch Angel Michael” and reverse that. “When you die, you are as dead as a door nail” and you reverse that. “The UN is an evil organization that as being followers of Jehovah, would never, ever participate and be a non governmental member of the U.N.” and reverse that. Take “The New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures Bible is the one and only true Bible, and that we would never alter the scriptures to our own liking” and reverse that. Take “The organization of Jehovah’s Witness is the Truth” and reverse that. “The Jehovah’s Witnesses would never, EVER have images and subliminals of Demonic faces, pagan gods, and pornographic images embedded within most of their artwork and drawings in most of their literature throughout the many years” and reverse that. Take “The Jehovah’s Witnesses never apply mind controlling techniques” and you reverse that. Take “The Jehovah’s Witnesses have never been accused of pedophilia” and you reverse that. You see, little by little, you start to see the light shine, until you are finally free, and living happily ever after in Paradise on Earth from this oppressive anti-Christ beast system of religion.
