Try an put more breath if you can. Plus Im not a teacher for tuba, but try the uhm... not sure the name but you start with the high bB then the next note an each time you go back to the high b flat. IT's my advice for tuba. Like i said, im no teacher, just figured giving some advice for it. Plus one more thing do breathing exercises. Gonna need good lungs for the low low notes. Other than that your doing good. Keep it up

You are pushing the trumpet to your lips way too hard, your lips almost can't vibrate, increase air flow to increase vibration, not squeezing them to make more vibrations

Btw master one instrument first before starting another one, they might look similar, but the skills are different

Don't squeeze your lips too hard to play high notes, increase your air flow from your mouth, the higher speed of air flow, the higher vibration of your lips, the easier to play high notes, just like how people tend to scream so loud when they sing high notes

You are correct. Since picking up trumpet I have also been playing on various other brass instruments as well. I always enjoy some variety.

Hi Alex, its always nice to see someone grab the trumpet and learn by him/herself. If you wanna try to improve a lot, focus on breathing. Im playing trumpet for over 30 years now and still have my things to work on ;D A deep breath (in the belly) is always the ground for a brass player as well as it is for a singer. So if you breath strongly you will push your tone to a much safer and voluminous level. Greetz and have fun advancing

When playing horn it’s very important to hear the note in your head to help with coming in on the attack and be light with the tongue. Also for trigger usage it’s best for everything above G or in concert pitch C whichever you refer to it as. Aside from that you have a nice tone keep up the good work!

Keep it going man, I could see your progress. You gonna reach musician level in like 4 to 5 years. Relax your lips a little bit when you are playing high key, blow harder instead of press harder

Yes!!! You're learning the flute! Few tips, make sure you master the embouchure because you're going to need it for the high notes. Secondly, learn how to tune the flute, it's really easy. Finally, when you get to a more advanced level, like to where you get to around high D or E flat try learning how to vibrato. It makes it sound much better! I am so here for this!!!!

Are you 100% self teaching yourself or have you some musical background or advice ? All the best for you in 2024 and thanks for your videos ! :D

I am totally self-taught for all the instruments I play except for piano, for which I had lessons until I got my Grade 8, and some sax lessons back when I was at school. I did do a musical degree at uni and I've been an instrumental music teacher since then so I probably have a slight advantage over a beginner who has to learn to read and understand the theory as well as technically get to grips with the instrument. Thanks for watching!

Didn't mean to be rude in the other video i commented, just kinda trying to be constructive. You do need to pay attention to thounge in brass. The sound quality depends on it 100%. Ask any professional. Same goes for breath.

Hey! I know this sounds weird from an internet stranger but I believe I should have some tips for you I've received from a couple years playing a brass instrument. You should let your tongue "flap in the wind," and the way you should be thinking about it is by setting a constant flow of hot air, blowing *through* the horn instead of into it. Think not just blowing through the bell, but towards the houses 5 or 10 streets away, warm as if you're fogging your car window. While doing this, do "t's" like in "ticket" or any English word with a hard consonant T. Do this multiple times on a note that you're comfortable playing 5 to 10 minutes a day and your tonguing technique will improve.

I've played the Bb Tuba for 16 years now. I can honestly say the most important thing is breath. Breathe deep, fill your lungs, it's not comfortable at first. You have ALOT of air if you just spend it wisely. Check out breathing exercises. Also, work on your articulation. There are many ways to start your notes. Try saying "p-, t-, k" in your mouthpiece while buzzing. Keep it up!

As a brass player who's been in it for 9 years, I always love how the start of the journey sounds like. Makes me feel better about how I play rn aswell. Keep up the good work, you're doong great!

Might be good to check out some brass or trumpet-specific breathing exercises/videos. It seems like you could be paying a bit more attention to the start of your notes and the breathing before you create sound. It helped me make a big difference in sound and ease of playing myself. Good luck!

I'm not sure why this was recommended to me but I'm ok with it. Maybe KZbin thinks I need to pick up the ol' clarinet and do the same thing.
