I think the industry faces a crisis, the devices do everything that a human needs, so they invent this boogeyman "AI"....sure....

This is very nice to hear. As a masters student focussing in analog and RF, I'm interested to know how much analog design will prevail in lower technology nodes. I'm also keen on seeing how much analog will be used in AI/ML application like in memory computing, Oscillators for RADAR chirping and frequency synthesis

Dr. Zhang's point on semiconductors as the economy's backbone resonated deeply. In our experience, the integration of emerging memory technologies like RRAM is not just a trend but a necessity for future developments. It's fascinating to see how these innovations will shape the industry's path.

Tesla went with end to end AI as otherwise, they ended up micromanaging everything and that never ends. Too much micromanagement, helping businesses do this, do that. Robots will be smarter, faster, cheaper than humans so AI will do everything. Businesses, they are allowed to exist but they don't have the right to exist and at some point, humanity will escape materialism due to abundance and that means no businesses. So what matters? Meeting the needs of people and robots. And yes hardware is needed for AI and further down the road for artificial bodies, whatever that ends up being, doesn't have to be semis. Oh and cars can not be sustainable, in terms of weight, volume, footprint vs payload, they are absurdly inefficient. They offer speed, safety, comfort that is hard to match though. The fun factor can matter too for vehicle so can be factored in. Energy, we need solar cells with over 90% efficiency as soon as possible, the theoretical limit is just theoretical. Connectivity, data and power might be best, if electricity remains the main way to power things. Media (games, music, movies) generated on device no more Netflix or Square Enix. A robot can be a wold class chef so no more a lot of things in the food industry. Can be a teacher, a shrink and so on. Glasses and virtual chemistry set or lab,, much more efficient than areal chemistry set. Ofc glasses and beyond that, replace TVs, phones, PCs, tablets and so on. How to eliminate the need for so many IoT devices, how to be much more efficient? There is no real competition and worse, no real innovation in Western capitalism because of how capitalism is perceived. Innovation means risk but risk is seen as a bad thing. Only startups innovate as they don't have any other option but that's not enough. Best to zoom out and see the forest, not just the trees.
