Zippyshare is dead now. Can you reupload the firmware? I'm trying to install a new HDD in my DMR-EH55, but firmware from Panasonic site gives "NGDISK" error.

What version of Windows are you using? You could try using an older version eg Windows NT. See if someone you know has an older version and then experiment.

He'd just had I'm No Hero album and recorded 1 of the best songs Alan Tarney ever wrote, 'Hold On' (Don't Wait For Tomorrow') A song off that album 'Give A Little Bit More' was released only in America, Canada, and New Zealand, but the single (backed by 'Everyman') was a Top 40 hit in All of those countries! Also 'In The Night,' another single not released in Britain, was a Top 30 hit in Japan, backed by 'Everyman' again from the brilliant 'Im No Hero' album. Another great song from the 'I'm No Hero' recording sessions was 'Keep On Looking,' which of course was the 'B' side to 'A Little In Love' single a N0.15 in this country And a Massive hit in Japan, (i think i read it was a N0.1) as well as a Top 20 hit in America and Canada. Despite all this, NOTHING will ever top HeathCliff by Cliff Richard, the DVD is sensational, the cast is still lovely today Every one of them, and the 59 shows I attended at the front and the stage were All superb. I have many cassette recordings as proof, including the 'last night' and encores of 'The Gambling Song' and 'Be With Me Always' that were never Ever released. @@mikeuknz Thank you for a quick reply. I don't know what is DVD HTH and I thing it wil be hard to obtain here in my destination... I suposed to burn it at lower speed around 2x or 4x maybe 10x is too much for the dvd player to read....

@@rudolfzaris675 A DVD is the disc you put in the DVD player and you need to record the firmware on to a recordable DVD disc. HTH is just an abbreviation for "hope this helps" sorry for any confusion.

You could try phoning the Panasonic help line and see if they will send you the firmware. Firmware is often model specific and I can't guarantee that the one I have will work for the GN model. My laptop went down recently and I lost the file. I will try and find a copy (if I have one) and upload it.

@@mikeuknz The GN is the Aust/NZ model, which is what I presume you have? I rang Panasonic & they no longer have anything for the DMR-EH55, so you are my only hope mate!

Just a standard small or medium cross head. However, these days they often use funny screws for which you need a screwdriver with a special head. Look at the head with a magnifying glass and see if it is a tri-wing one or something else. It is always worth getting a set of such screwdrivers to have in case you need them. Which country are you in? In New Zealand you can get a good quality set from Jaycar. Otherwise if in the US try Amazon. HTH

@@mikeuknz hi, thanks for such a fast reply . I'm in the UK. I think it is a tri-wing. When I try the screwdriver I use to remove the three ones at back it is too small and doesn't do anything.

I think the firmware updates a chip but I am not an expert. Good luck!

There is no mention of the recommended write speed for the update CD, it just says ISO-9660. So I've written it at 1x speed, but it didn't work.

@@kyokochan81 I think you need to give the file the name PANADVD.FRM at least that was the one that worked for me. The file type FRM probably identifies it as firmware. However I have no way of being sure what it should be for your model.

or maybe it was PANA_DVD.FRM it was almost 7 years ago now!
