Abalone Cove was a private beach club through the 60s and 70s. The Southern point, known as Inspiration point, was the intended lot for a massive mansion, but because of the stock market crash in 1929 only the servants quarters was ever built. In that backyard of that building was the "big W" made from palm tress that was used in the movie, 'It's A Mad Mad Mad World'. The cove you see next to Abalone Cove is Sacreds cove. It was a popular nude beach for decades until local rich PV ites shut them out.

Thanks for your review and walk thru of this little camper as there's not much on You Tube about Meerkat camper. I'm thinking about downsizing from a 30' travel trailer or getting a small RV for quick weekend getaway for 1 - 2 people. I've had pop up campers in the past but a lot of fuss to set up and take down, particularly in the rain.

Mini solar tip. You can steplessly dim down a bulge and all other hungry electricity consumers with a 5000W dimmer (7, EUR). I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200...400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos on my channel kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3SVoJ-YeKebnpI The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs remain intact because no extreme current peaks arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices...

I’m very interested in getting my own Meerkat. I also live in Upstate NY. Any chance I could arrange to see yours? I’d be quick about it! My major issue is that I’m 6’3” tall, and I’d like to “try it on for size”, especially for sleeping. I understand I could order a pop top that goes up to 6’4”.How long is the coach on the left (drivers side) for a single person to sleep without making up the full bed? Thanks! Brian

The pop up is what kills this trailer. I don’t want a pop up to be able to stand up. For the price the Tab made by NuCamp is much better. Or the Intech line.

No bathroom/portapotty, no two burner stove top, no airconditioning or heat, and no shower. There are other brands out there the same size that have what I like. The MerKat is a nice beginer camper. It just is what it is.

That fridge is a $1388 option, front box $600 option (actually necessary), chip shield is a necessary option $300, necessary option is a $125 spare wheel, and if you want an awning $500. If you leave your Meerkat outside you need to invest in a cover $500, and wheel covers to prevent sun rot, more $$$. With the "options" listed +Tax, license, prep fees depending on state runs about $28K investment. If I stay at 3 or 4 star hotels four times a year I'll have spent $24,000.
