This was very uplifting. I am someone who often thinks someone is lying or manipulating me in some way if they compliment me. It sucks, because I do readily believe negative opinions about me and see that as truth. I don't really know how to get better with this. It doesn't help that my first relationship was with an abusive narc who constantly insulted me.
