Is there a basement under the house? Wondering if there was a coal furnace or if the room stoves were coal burners....

My great great grandpa had a farm near Jefferson Township after the civil war. I love to see how beautiful an old farm in Ohio can be. Good luck!

Good luck on your old house. We bought a 1916 farmhouse 28 years ago. And we are still working on it. As when you get rooms done. And time goes on its time to redo them again. We are down to our last 2 rooms to finish. We have done 95% of the work ourselves. And the last room in our house is going to be the down stairs bathroom. It was all ripped out when we bought it. So we have been using it as storage as we redo the other rooms. And it will need the most work. Utility room is next to do the final finish on. We had to rebuild it from the floor and walls to build it the right way. We just got it about 75% done and just have the finishing to do. Just got the mudroom/pantry done. Love it! Now I have room for all my canning.

What a beautiful location! The front of the house will look great once the brush is removed. But, I personally wouldn’t have bought this house because the floor plan is so dysfunctional; such as walking through the living room to get to the bathroom, the stairway to the second floor is a nightmare (try getting your furniture up those stairs) and having to walk through one bedroom to enter the other two. The second story porch however is a great feature.

This used to be my great uncles home. My great grandmothers father built this home. They build the bricks out of clay from the property. I have old photos if you’re interested, just to see what it looked like years ago. Thank you for sharing updates on it.

I would encourage you to learn the art of plastering and restore it back when you're done. It's a lot better than drywall.

I picked up an oscillator tool with a flat blade. Took that plaster right off. Are you planning on insulating the walls?

@@MartyMichellefarmhouse Air hammer and small compressor would make short work of that. You got it done though. Good work.

This room going to be the kitchen, We are putting Radiant floor heat system in the whole house so needed access to joist to run. Also adding a bathroom on the second floor. Taking out all the ceilings to even in upstairs so we can do new wiring.
