Uno dei brani più rappresentativi del prog canterburiano e pietra miliare di tutto il pop-rock in genere. Atmosfera irripetibile, come il grande Ratledge

I have always felt this song was the progression of someone going through a trip and the singer is the guild bringing the person back, knowledge of the psychological changes that were made to the traveler's personality during the trip.

Sadly a lot of contempory bands of the day dismissed the music and Pinder specifically for the use of the mellotran considering it not an instrument so not legit. I couldnt disagree more but just saying what i've heard. The Moodies are the best band ever, other really great ones but none make me feel or take my soul to where can.

Mike Pinder’s writing ,vocals and playing were as good as it gets. E.g. if not for Mike’s intro to Nights in White Satin, even Justin Hayward has said it wouldn’t the song it became.

In my opinion, this is the album where they really got a little more depth to their pleasantness, which gave a more satisfying experience to the listener, if you know what I mean.

Loved the Moody Blues for about 55 years (or earlier, since first hearing Nights in White Satin, not their earlier hit Go Now!). Didn’t realize the somewhat-subtle Christian/Jesus references until later, especially when hearing how deeply christian Mike Pinder was (and some of the others were/are ). Personally, not thrilled at all with the Christian references (subtle, or otherwise) threaded through some of the lyrics, like here in Mike Pinder’s work, or like in Seventh Sojourn, in some of John Lodge’s songs, etc. I just try to ignore or re-imagine these spots in the lyrics. Not a fan of Jesus, or the religion.
