V3 seems to have the most sustain, V2 sounds fuller a smoother than all the others. V1 not as low end heavy as V2 and V3. V3 seems to be more aggressive than V2.

Not sure what all the hype is about they literally sound IDENTICAL!! I have two CBEs and they especially nail that special thing most vintage analog delays do which is the sort of inconsistent punch of the delay. Love that!

I believe the Ibanez one sounds more vocal and the Maxon sounds more normal and watery. Could just be how the trimpots were set on them.

Ive had them all, including all of the Neo Vent versions and it really depends on a couple factors...... A) are you the type of person that is very particular and its the last 5 or 10% that makes the difference, and B) when was the last time (if ever) you played a guitar thru a real Leslie? ......... For me the H&K wins hands down against all of them. There's something organic to it that the others miss, and a real spinning leslie is nothing if not organic sounding. Some mentioned it sounds more "chorus like" than rotary speaker to their ears..... Well if you've ever played thru a big leslie cab like a 147 or 122 set up with a guitar pre-amp, you will understand you DO get a strong chorusing effect with the speed changes between rotors. Its part of what makes them so magical and again organic. I've never heard a better analog or digital recreation than my Mki rotosphere. I think maybe thats why it IS the best, because it's analog vs all the others i can think of recently are digital recreations. Its the 10% that does it for me. Somebody less picky will certainly be perfectly happy with a Neo ventilator or Lex, the Leslie digital, etc etc .....

The Rotosphere is by far the best rotary pedal if you use it in your FX loop. Its not even close. Sounds realistic in every scenario. Ive owned literally all of them. I WISH someone would make a smaller one that sounds as good but no one has come close yet.

I'm curious when the unit is turned off does the delay sound trail off or does the delay cut off immediately? I;m talking about after you have repeats of the delay sound happening and you hit the footswtich off. like a trails mode works on current pedals.

Nothing about this noisemaker is even remotely compelling. It sounds like crap and is super annoying. Stick with an Axe FX and a theramin (can purchase both for less money than this abortion). At least there will be a chance to sound musical. Or you could just mic strangling a cat.

I have one of these, my dad got it back in the 80's. To me the sweet spot for my setup is "66 fuzz", or 6 on drive and 6 on volume. That's with a Fender Strat through a clean Orange Micro Terror, or my 1964 Silvertone 1484. Just depends on how loud I need to be.
@ksharpe10
@ksharpe10 2 жыл бұрын
At least in my area back in the 70's, we either called them Fuzz's and or at best Boost pedals. There is a whole thread going on at any different time on The Gear Page, as to what was the 1st OVERDRIVE pedal. So I would think it would have to have at least Overdrive or OD in it's name. So if the one labeled OverDriver, was out in the mid/late 70's I would call it 1st. Now techniquely the EHX/electro harmonix had the LPB-1 out in at least 1970, and it was marketed as a Boost. But that was not an actual Pedal, it was not on the floor with a footswitch, it usually got put in the input going right into the amp. I never tried using another cable back then and putting it on the Floor, maybe with your Foot you could have pushed the slide switch to on/off. What a juggling act that would have been. The only other one that I know of out in the mid 70's was the Maxon OD 808 which later became the ibanez tubescreamer the famous 808 circuit, with OD in its name and given what the Tubescreamer actually does it would be considered a Boost/Overdrive. So I could vote for the Colorsound as number 1. But opinions Vary, yours may be different. Oh, just thought of my Vox Super Beatle amp, late 60's. It had MRB footswitchable which stood for Mid Range Boost and that was what it did, the unfortunate part was there was a Distortion seperate switch for D which was Distortion, and it was a good usable one, but to use it was in the Brilliant channel only. I never thought back then to do the Marshall thing, run a short cable between the 2 channels to try that. That was labeled and was a Solid State Amp, no Tubes, but gosh it was sure Darn Close. What killed them was supposedly realiablilty issues, they were not Durable road amps. I had mine from 78 til 1982, but it hardly left the House, and worked fine when I sold it. That was not a PEDAL, so just information only.
