Yes, I know many players feel like that. But say for some endgame activities like Thargoid war, Spire farm you need to find a group of people for a said task. If incentive is there for you to find a group, just in open to achieve a certain goal, wouldn't then risk and loss be acceptable?

@@puppeteer4916 absolutely not; as griefers and gankers love to make other players miserable. Many "don't have any reason to play the game" so they just grief. (I have North of 14B Credits; almost a carrier full of engineered ships; still don't go gank. Because I also understand how unbalanced the PvP is, especially for new commanders.) Thargoid war is very much so fought in some Private Groups - Meaning if you're reported for griefing other players - you'll be removed. Don't give me the "pirating is my RP" Spiel. Ganking is seal clubbing 100% I'm okay with lesser rewards not done in Open. But the PvP community is a quie, smaller player base, and yet the only ones that care about things being done in open as much.

Yes i agree, there is ganking and griefing, seal clubbing too. Taking a full pvp FDL to titan space in open with no valid gameplay objective, but to increase the odds of your success, effectively turning your gameplay loop difficulty to easy. How ever i think there is two sides of the story here, player who is bored, because he has nothing else to do in game pvp wise, so he seeks to disrupt, and the other side who makes videos of how cool he is ganking with odds stacked in his favor. With developers making design choices to support more PVP meaningful loops, numbers of "bad actors" would also diminish. Because why would he go to CG, or Titan space to pvp, when he is parked right at map driven hotspot where PP factions are at war?

Restricting content to open is not always the same as just adding incentive. For example, gating unique equipment or content to open vs something as conceptually simple as a 10% credit buff for playing in open, or a 10% disparity in bgs/pp influence playing open vs solo. The issue I see is the game does not inherently utilize risk vs reward to incentivize the human behavior we'd like to see from our fellow cmdrs. Folks that want human opponents don't have the game focusing them anywhere in meaningful gameplay loops. Yes, that includes both those seeking to club seals and those seeking more fair competition. Seal clubbing will always be a thing because some folks just want to ruin your fun, but it is certainly a problem exacerbated by not having a proper system incentivizing consensual group PvP. The lack of in game chat options and limited grouping features also aren't helping the situation. If a trader can easily start a wing and expect to get three randos from their power to escort and defend them on their hauling mission and all of them receive a better return on time investment (including those that might intercept them) than playing in solo than we've got fun emergent gameplay that people can choose to engage in. IMHO anyway. Regardless of the open/solo debate I'm looking forward to the proposed stronghold fleet carrier groups, working to spawn them and then defending/attacking them, finally being the place to go if direct PvP interactions are what a player wants. Much easier for my PvPea brain to identify where to spend my time for my desired gameplay if the UI points it out visually, rather than the current system of research and hope.

I play open exclusively and get ganked like twice a year. If I come across another player they’re always chill.

@@khoatran-sv7je 2560*1080 UW 200hz. How ever while it looks cinematic, ultrawide distorts vision of close to far object. So depth to measure distance in say WW2 scenarios is a bit tricky.

Dcs doesn't have rtx, 2.9 intraduced nvidia dlss. With your hardware you don't need any upscaling to be honest. Depending on resolution, best case for you would be to use MSAA if you see any jaggered edges, but say if your playing on 4k, just go with out. Dlss while bumping your fps a lot, has some blurring issues. Everything else you saw is eye candy built in game. Reshade I use just make colors and textures pop out. Vibrance and lumasharpe.

Gear down is initiating precision mode, it's only available in decouple. I have been using it for years. Also if you look at Yogis Citcon presentation, this is how we are going to land in atmo as well. In precision mode.

If you don't care a ton about ray tracing you can get yourself a rx 6700xt for cheaper but with 4gbs more vram which makes it a lot better for 1440p

No idea, I'm on 2560x1080. Gonna guess it's sub optimal, with some lower settings could make it work. If you have a decent cpu, consider bumping up gpu to 3080. Maybe cheaper Amd 7800 xt, but don't know how those perform in dcs, driver wise.

I keep mine on Fast with 2.9 because when I do a barrel roll I can see tearing on the bottom left and right on the screen.

Hey there. I still experiment to find a sweet spot, yeah it adds blur to the mix, so it does in every game, we just don't notice as much because objects are close. Also using reshade in that video. It's only been a week, and ED hard at work dropped a patch, fixed a lot of issues. Also if you play WW2, i found spotting is better because of the blur :)

Its VKB NXT Evo. It's a good entry stick. Has some nice features. In that price segment of 150-200$ its unbeatable. Also has a dry clutch. You can combine two of them for a space sim, and make a throttle/collective out of the left one.
