So excited to have found your channel! I teach an astronomy class in our homeschool co-op. It's always been a passion of mine. My grandfather helped build mission control in Houston back in the day, and he always talked about the sky. It gave me a love of it.

I have been attempting to find the triangulum galaxy with an 8" telescope from rural SE New Mexico. Should I be able to see it, or is it too dim?
@jeffreya.wilkerson929328 күн бұрын
Thanks for the question. It is a tricky object! I have seen it while camping in the mountains without any telescope or binoculars just my eyes. but then I have found it challenging with a telescope and any haze at all. It is large so that the light is spread out, meaning there is a lot of light there but it is spread over enough area that it can fade into the background. Try it with the sides of your eye, then binoculars, then the lowest magnification eyepiece you have to keep the light as concentrated as possible. It should be visible in your scope under good skies.

I’m also curious will the T-Atlas Comet ☄️ provide us with a meteor show as well like Haleys comet does. Will we get a shower from it? Was so happy to see that comet ☄️ in my lifetime 😊
@jeffreya.wilkerson92932 ай бұрын
I don't know but it is unlikely. Meteor showers tend to come from what we call "short period" comets, like Halley with a 76 year period. These comets come by repeatedly so that boiled off dust can build up to create a shower. Longer period comets, with periods like 80,000 years, don't get to do that as much.

The Earth is FLAT AND STATIONARY. We live in an Electromagnetic Perpetual Energy System that gives conditions for Life,(DNA).Polaris Star is the Center of this System and Everything runs in Salty Water or Liquid Noble Gasses in circle above Us. The Earth's firmament is enclosed in an Ermetic DOME that gives us Atmospheric Pressure. Sun, Moon, Stars and Planets(wandering stars) run in circle on different heights in Salty Water or in LNG, in 7 different layers.Visible Light is produced by layers of Noble Gasses ignited by the Electric Field of the Sun (Photons aka Light). Sun and Moon run at different velocity, Sun 365 days per year, Moon 354 days per year and that's the difference in the Islamic Ramadan beginning 11 days earlier than the year before". The Earth is a Stationary Plane. We don't live on a Spinning Ball. INTELLIGENT DESIGN. media.tenor.com/images/dca913940cc95469e99cb8ba32b10d78/tenor.gifcxpnychm

What can you tell us about 2024 PT5?
@jeffreya.wilkerson92933 ай бұрын
Thank you. I can't say too much. It's a pretty small asteroid that will make some orbits around the Earth before moving on. It is very hard to see. When I take data for our research project I use a 12" diameter telescope and expose the camera to light for 70 seconds. I can barely see objects down to about magnitude 19, maybe 19.5. 2024 PT5 is about magnitude 23, meaning it is about 20 to 50 times fainter than I can routinely detect. I could expose for an hour or two and maybe get there but my sky brightness (background light) is such that I likely might not too. If did get it in my image it would be hard to find among the background stars.
