Haven't watched just yet so I'm not sure if you make any of these points, but... I am not a fan of these boxes. Mine was $175 at my LGS (compared to $150 for Set boxes), and I probably opened the same amount of rares. But, I noticed you can't pull any of the Commander cards from the precons now! Such a bummer. I always really enjoyed that about Set boosters. Really seems like a cash grab from WotC. Shame.

That is a bummer about the precon commander cards, but the price per pack is actually cheaper at 175 for 36 vs 150 for 30. The packs have more cards and less art cards, too, if it was just a case of filler/greed on WOTC’s part. Not saying money isn’t part of it, but if it was just a money thing, they could have just called them play boosters, left it at 12 card while justifying the increased price with doing the 36 packs, pushed the need for even more packs for draft, and left art cards taking a spot in every pack. I’m new to MTG, and my first set was WOE. I got a set booster box and ended up with 360 cards total, of which only 330 were actually Magic cards. By comparison, a MKM play booster box would net you 504, of which about ten would be set cards, and throw in another 5 for those cards that are punch out tokens. So you’d have about 490 cards versus 330. I know some people don’t like the set, but the value as a newer player doesn’t seem bad to me for the extra cost.

@@retro-orthodox Sure, you might have more cards. But those cards are valueless common/uncommons. At least rares have a legit chance to have value/playability. And if you're going to end up with basically the same number of rares as Set boxes for more money, it's a waste. Might as well just buy Collector boxes if you're trying to open chase rares.

So depending on where the boxes were made decides that. Usually if your rares are in the front it means they were produced in japan
