what about future of truck dispatchers?
@AndersonTruckingService24 күн бұрын
Depends on the size of the company, the location, the industry you are in, as well as if you are in assets or brokerage! There are so many variables to consider. However, trucking will always be a thing and the world would not operate without it. At times it will be tough and other times will be easy. It's more about riding the wave of the industry and preparing for the down turns.
@VilarTruckingIncАй бұрын
Seems like this process is mainly for truck drivers. Does this apply for trucking companies? I applied as a trucking company and was rejected. The email states that "the applicant has the option to align itself as an agent with an already established and approved Indirect Air Carrier (IAC) or with the air carrier/aircraft operators."
@AndersonTruckingServiceАй бұрын
This video specifically is for the driver side. As a trucking company, you would need to become an IAC. This would require creating a TSA approved training program which would then allow you to train your drivers to become TSA certified. We do not have exact specifics for you on how you would do that, I would start with contacting the TSA as a trucking company and obtaining information from there. If you are doing it as a trucking company, it would be to train your drivers in onboarding to become TSA certified, but the drivers would still need to follow these steps within this video. In this case, you would be the IAC that certifies their training, while the TSA would conduct background checks.

@AndersonTruckingServiceАй бұрын
Brokerage services, when done right mean drivers have to spend less time locating their own freight. It is a resource that enables carriers and shippers to connect in a broader capacity than if its singular drivers and companies hunting through thousands of options independently. They play a vital role in keeping the supply chains moving. If all brokerages were to close today, it would require all drivers to find their own available freight. While this would initially generate more revenue for drivers, the system simply couldn't withstand the impact of it. Brokerages help close the gap between drivers and shippers for the high volumes of freight we are seeing today.

@AndersonTruckingServiceАй бұрын
I am so sorry to hear about your business. This is a tough time for all companies, large or small, as well as drivers. I spoke with Paul to get a response for you. Paul did not expect freight volumes to improve in the 2nd half of the year, however, he did expect pricing to be better. While this hasn't been a big improvement, it has improved. The pricing improvement is smaller than he expected as smaller carriers and brokers have kept contract prices depressed and there has not been any volume improvement that would have helped move freight to a higher spot market freight. Going into 2025, Paul does not see a pickup in volumes and the only improvement will be in price, if driving capacity declines.

Hiring so many foreign drivers with minimal training doesn’t help trucker pay

INCREASING INTEREST RATES. WHICH IN TURN INCREASES PRICES , REDUCES DEMAND AND HENCE REDUCES NO OF TRUCKS ON THE ROAD AND CALLING IT "TRANSATORY INFLATION" ALSO DOESNT HELP
@AndersonTruckingService2 ай бұрын
There are many reasons trucker pay is being affected. The inflation, lack of goods being purchased, cost to run a truck, cost to run a trucking company, insurance, parts, repairs etc. While competitive pay may have an impact on overall truck driver pay, it is a very minimal impact compared to everything else.
@Pompy_silverАй бұрын
Spot on; if they were out on the road they’d see what you mean. 70% of the truck drivers that see are foreigners. Thank the government for foreign entities for bringing h1b drivers while paying them .25 cent per mile. Good luck competing with them. It’s simple supply and demand due to poor regulation; because anyone can open up Mc from anywhere in the world and milk the industry. The economy is what it is in being cynical;the economy condition has nothing to on this prolonged freight recession:. The only thing to fix this is to remove all the h1b visa and be struck on cross boarder operations.

@S.D.L46XX2 ай бұрын
@@AndersonTruckingService Hi.., why so little total weight for trucks in the US ?
@AndersonTruckingService2 ай бұрын
It's most likely due to the type of roads. The extra weight paired with the harsh winters damage the roads pretty quickly. If you go over 80,000, you can get permitted depending on the location and weight and those funds go back into repairing roads.

@AndersonTruckingService3 ай бұрын
While this could work in theory, postponing the trips and services to intentionally raise the price of goods (creating demand) would eventually go back to how it is now when the services get purchased. There are many more layers to what is causing lower rates, including things such as inflation.

Good Day, Excellent video I appreciate the insight and information; here's my two cents worth. I started in this industry in 96' and like many of you I've seen massive growth, changes and more regulations throughout my career. I would like to touch on a few items that were discussed in this video and maybe help others grasp it from a different perspective. I do believe costs are without question a big issue and the couple of pandemic years are outliers and provide us with very little useful data in the big picture. I believe that inflation as egregious as it is will have lasting effects on small to midsize carriers going forward, I do agree that the current environment is not sustainable for anyone, especially the smaller carriers. What I don't believe is talked about enough is the importance of driver recruiting and retention, sure we all understand we need drivers safe conscientious drivers, how will the industry navigate to the ever changing demographic of drivers? We are going to see in the next five years and beyond a real changing of the guard regarding the driver pool, we are starting to see it already in certain platforms around the industry. Many drivers who have been out here in excess of twenty five years know and understand that $1300-$1500 for a weekly compensation is just not adequate, many made that well, twenty five years ago. Many of us sit around the conference room table and talk about "best practices", yet many of these ideas never make it down to where it counts, the drivers. When I look at the sacrifice vs risk vs reward due to overregulation, more demands placed on the driver and without question even more consequences for both the carrier and drivers; how will we recruit going forward? I think we all have to look in the mirror as leaders and ask ourselves, did we really do our best, have we provided adequate pay for the formula above, I believe the answer is, sometimes. We can as an industry keep on kicking the can down the road however eventually and I believe it is coming industry wide, we will all struggle to find drivers. We all understand the median age of drivers, the younger generation I would say has virtually no desire to live in a box, make the same compensation as their counterparts but are home daily. As as sales professional we can continue to focus on the ABC's of business (Always Be Closing) continue to prospect which is vital to any organization, however what is more paramount than any customer, is our drivers; without drivers we are doomed. Is our number one customer really our customer, as an industry we have failed the men and women who make everything possible. So I wouldn't worry about the ABC's of business, I would focus on ABR (Always Be Recruiting & Retaining) this has and will become the most important metric in trucking. Stay safe
