Hi Michael! Is it possible for the employer to not pay the days which i worked for? This is because I gave only 1 week notice instead of the 1 month which is stated in the contract.

Most businesses these days need to first pay their staff proper wages that they can live on and also use to stimulate the economy properly from the ground up. It's not a disorder to be miserable and alienated by a society that grinds you up for usually, these days, pointless things like endless marketing or call centre work and seeing that you're just making ever increasing, vast profits for an increasing number of billionaires who run the world now. On top of which, no-mater how much or how many jobs you work, you still can't even afford a basic house. Just for a very rudimentary frame of reference here, working in special forces, you're making a huge difference to society and other's lives, saving lives and so on. In most other jobs today, you're helping shovel billions into some executives offshore tax-dodging accounts and investments while for your hard work being trampled on, ignored and paid nothing. I'm not sitting here wallowing in self-pity, by the way, for those who might just avoid the problem by thinking along those lines. I'm aware of all this, I do what I can to help others and raise awareness of mental health and related issues in society and I maintain "cheerfulness in the face of adversity". But for this comment, I am focusing on a very glaring problem we have as a society, which modern technology and so on is being used to worsen and not change, solve or improve at all. Foxy is 100% right, but what he is talking about also needs to be applied to society as a whole, not just individuals. Society needs to also check in with itself regularly, which it basically never does, yet we now have vast technological capabilities and interconnectedness - the tools human beings have evolved and developed over millennia for the very purpose of changing and improving society for all, and for coming together better and better. Meanwhile, another aspect is the business of media, which now just does anything and says whatever it wants to simply cause trouble and turn us against each other - why? Because that kind of news gets you clicking and giving them advertising revenue. Simple as. All this right v left, ranting about woke liberal pc brigades, arguing over climate change, arguing over everything is big business making billions and billions from causing trouble and this is also massively damaging and hindering social progress, humanity's potential for immense teamwork and problem solving.

Totally agree. Most people are stressed because they can’t afford to live. Then they go to work and think why am I working this hard, only to still struggle for money

I don't think businesses have much trouble adopting this strategy. - Look how much money hospitals make from convincing children they are another gender and then chopping their body parts off - Look how much money businesses make by branding themselves around pride month - Look at the diversity quotas businesses have to follow to have a good reputation or even avoid criminal punishment The real problem is how to stop this mess and the impact it has on young children.

I actually DISAGREE especially coming from commercial banking and finance control, group reporting +decade long experience among the largest London's banks. It is true that most of those have step up and limit its dependencies on any agencies in recruitment processes over last years utilizing own HRs and technology instead, especially for permanent roles around the city. Nevertheless if front office seems to be expending alongside with start-ups/fin tech etc commercial and traditional banks rather pivot on their shared services centres outside UK.Before even pandemic we haven't seen any of those group's and strategic departments expanding in London. In contrast most of them shrink as matter of offshoring all operational related work to not only Asia but especially busy as never before Eastern Europe and Poland particular region. In the past it was only related to juniors level grades but whoever track those trends sees that banks like HSBC(the largest UK banking employer) Citi, UBS,JP Morgan etc. focusing on cutting those costs. On the other side changing sectors from commercial banking to investment banking or PE backed smaller business never been such difficult due to saturation of the market within senior level candidates having those backgrounds. London without doubt in financial services is the toughest to pull out such moves in contrast to as example agency recruitment, which doesn't require any qualifications and still provides as any sales jobs with average as many claims +85£k which is bizarre in contrast to qualified senior professionals in banking or FS hovering well below those levels. On financial services side it is clearly buy/sell market with particular focus on roles generating revenues rather back office ones and organization management. London is dropping ball on its traditional financial services hub role, place well known from HQs and decision makers to much more profit orientated functions of PEs, Assets Mgmt or Investment Banking. This is critical for thousands us working in corporate structures which ones are constantly being trimmed, challenged due to its costs and FTEs. Within all teams i was managing among top commercial banks to get budget approval on any new FTE in London is almost a miracle. Instead we are being told to do our bodies shopping in Poland or India instead, so locations specialized in so called shared service centres. This conflicts with business risk averse to recruit banking candidate in others FS sectors as employers narrowly lock on on individual sectors backgrounds instead of transferable skills. Taking all this into account I can more quickly change a whole sector like moving into agency recruitment than moving into very closely anyway related investment banking instead.

I was sorry to hear about this lady's eye problems, but to be frank, I think it's her EARS that are the problem! Today she made fish fingers on Steph's Packed Lunch. At the end, Steph said "Let's give her a big hand", cue clapping from Steph, Anton Du Beke, Marcus Brigstock...... and Ruby herself! Huh? Is she deaf, daft or stupid?!
