Gina had a fabulous life. She was multi-talented. Not only a great actress, but an excellent singer, sculptress, photographer, journalist, politican and so on. She did it all alone, never having any scandal or many lovers or marriagies to remain popular. She met all leading politicians of her time like president Tito of Yugoslavia, Castro from Cuba, Mitterand of France and so on. She always stayed humble despite her exceptional beauty. She donated millions to the poor and for medical research.

i have a lot of Panasonic DMR units... and all of them are aquiring from VCR increasing brightness of the original... (PAL versions) .. on the firmware there are no way to change black levels (on NTSC this option is available) ... anyone discovered how to prevent this high brightness issue on external inputs?

Hey there! Fun to see the actual reaction of folks enjoying the eclipse! I just commented on an old skydiving video on your channel, and wondered if there was a way I could get in touch? I'm an old jumper working on a skydiving doc, and I'm doing pro transfers of 8mm, 16mm, and some 35mm skydiving footage. I was hoping you might have some of that original film?

Hey there - I'm working on a skydiving doc focusing on the 60s and 70s and looking for film to transfer. Do you by any chance still have the actual film of this? Is there a way I could possibly get in touch with you?

Speaking of skydiving during the 1960s and 1970s, think about skydiving as seen in the movies which shows how rapidly advanced RW (relative work now called freewill formation flying) became. In 1965 the movie "Beach Blanket Bingo" with Annette Funicello and Frankie Avalon has very basic RW i.e. a 2-way. In 1969 the movie "The Gypsy Moths" with Burt Lancaster and Gene Hackman has basic some more sophisticated RW but mostly with long streamers. Then we have some totally amazing RW in the 1979 movie "Moonraker" in beginning of movie where Bond is pushed out of an airplane without and rig. He has to swoop in on the villain who exited earlier and steal his parachute rig. The RW done by stunt doubles BJ Worth and Jake Lombard is incredibly a leap forward doing stuff unknown ten years before (well there were probably a few skydivers that were working on this stuff like Pat Works).

@@wrightmf Yes! Also the TV show Ripcord! And I've interviewed BJ Worth and Jan Works on the topics as well. I've been in contact with Jake Lombard through a mutual friend and am planning an interview with him. There's also some amazing behinds the scene footage that MGM released with BJ prepping for the stunt work for Moonraker. Great stuff. Thanks for answering my question about the film - You never know right? I'm just scouring every resource and transferring anything I find at 4k - even the 8mm stuff!

@@conlimon1 Ripcord! Adventure Straight Down. I was able to get a few VHS tapes some years ago from a ebay seller that had all sorts of TV shows on VHS. And back in 1990s I met Bob Sinclair at World FreeFall Convention. As you know he did much of the stunt double of skydiving in that series. He mentioned there was another skydiver who offered to do the jumps for free so Bob lost some time on that. Which is the worst one does when doing it for free, the TV production people probably figured out quick it makes no sense to cheap out on something like that. Bob also mentioned one jumper who said he has lots of experience but cringed when watching the guy spot and seeing he didn't have many jumps. Bob was relieved to see his canopy open.

I've jumped at 7 different airports in California and don't recognize that airport. Is that TAFT by chance?
@wrightmf
@wrightmf 5 ай бұрын
I'm certain it is central California as that was the place to be when relative work was being pioneered. But could it be Taft or Arvin, I don't know. I might see if I can find emails I archived when I corresponded with Clark.

@@wrightmf I made my 100th jump at Taft. Near Taf was several huge oil tanks soured by earthen barriers and the pea pit wa inside a one they never built a tank in. Oddly I went to google maps and I could not only not find the airport I couldn't find the tans either??? I'll go back and see what the airport at Arvin looks likes..
@wrightmf
@wrightmf 5 ай бұрын
@@tplyons5459 I did a couple jumps in 1990s at Arvin opened after years of being closed. I read a relatively new skydiver (B license) got to do his first 8-way, and one of the jumpers in that group was one of the guys that did the first 8-way back in 1960s. Regarding Taft, I remember it as petroleum tanks and oil pumps everywhere, not the kind of place to live. I noticed the signs of Naval Petroleum Reserves Facilities and thinking, "damn, that would be a horrible assignment for a sailor stationed there."

that's what surprised me as I've seen old TVs from 1960s explode (or implode but debris bounces off). This one actually took several blows to break the glass, we see the inside has metal mesh to contain the debris field.
