When I was in college, I dated a gal from my hometown but went to college away. It killed both of us being apart, and whenever I came home for break be it a holiday weekend or the entire summer, we made the most of it. Until eventually it just got to be too hard for her. She wanted a man who was always around and I wanted to finish college so I could be that man to provide for her. We ended. Hearing this song brings me right back to that time. The ups and the downs. The love we had and the anguish of being apart. To this day I regret finishing college. It was an absolute waste. And worst of all, she’s gone so it’s not like I can even try to find her to rekindle things.
