When adding an aerator, you cannot leave it on 24/7 when you're first starting out on an established lake...you do little at a time each day.. 15 mins first day, 30, second day, 60 next day, 120, etc.. Otherwise, you're causing a temperature turn over which sends low oxygen water to the top and brings muck into the top water and you'll kill the fish. If your aerator is pumping in well water into your pond, you must aerate the water prior to it going into your pond.
