much nicer than my converted lathe... lol. Would like one so I can go cook lunch during the winding rather than sitting with the wire in my hand. Just ordered... now I have buy a PC - yuk. A Mac port would be grand.

Nice one Sean, It sounds nice and quiet. Hope all's going well. My Mark 1 is still giving sterling service a bit slower than this machine. Cheers Andrew.

Hi Andrew and thanks! Glad your Mark1 is still going strong that end after all these years👍

Did you have to change any components on the head part? Like a different air tube or nozzle or something? Also, how often does the compressor kick in to top up the tank (and how big is the tank)? Can you use it to do air assisted cutting of thin sheet metal?

Is this stepping motor? I thought step motor run max at 600rpm and you have 50:1 gearbox, then it should be 600/50= 12rpm. Are you sure they are stepping motor?

Depends on your controller, Here is a video of our PTHAT getting a Nema 17 Stepper motor up to 3000 RPM. kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3SZdKKAisukpcU

Hi Sean Nice animation and a good idea for people making large amounts of pickups. I think a double setup would be enough for most of the smaller producers Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew We already have an option for double setup and a few Guitar Shops use it, the 200mm Coil Winder with Dual motors and Pickup plates. ukcnc.net/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=52 Cheers Sean

I have one of your pick up winders and I am subscribed. I see you made a lot of effort in designing this. I was a respiratory therapist in the United States for many years. Mechanical ventilators are very complicated. In fact this is very complicated. I don’t think I can do justice by commenting here. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any help.

Thanks Ken for your kind offer, may well drop you a line. This is more of a Stop Gap device and not a replacement for a full on ventilator.

I'm not a medic but I think force/pressure sensor may be needed, or some regulator to limit pressure.

While it doesn't allow for control, a simple bubble tube could provide simple cheap protection from over pressure.

I was working on something similar to this. A few things: 1. Given that you will want to use a longer tube system for longer duration events, you will probably want a larger system with dual air bags and viral filters, a.) so you can provide adequate air with redundancy (and ability to switch out worn bags), and b.) so you don't vent the infected exhalations into the room, potentially aerosolizing them. That makes things much, much worse for providers. 2. You'll probably want to include provisions for an EtCO2 monitoring solution (capnometer). This can either be a cheap CapnoDura Combi, or a more expensive electronic unit. Also, for the mask, sealing will be very important here, again, to both ensure the patient is getting plenty of air, while also making sure you don't vent infected breath into the atmosphere. As the capnometer will be in contact with the patient's infected air, ensuring a proper seal for that would probably be a good idea as well. If its a disposable colorimetric EtCO2 solution like the CapnoDura, then you will also want the ability to swap out capnometers safely. 3. They will probably also be interested in closed circuit suction solution (to remove matter from the airway). They may, or may not have this on hand. 4. A pulse oximeter is typically used as well. My concept basically took all these into account, with the added wrinkle that everything could be monitored remotely. The thinking here was that having one nurse capable of monitoring multiple patients, would reduce the need to go room to room to check on the systems. This keeps other nurses and doctors free to handle other patients, while also reducing repeated exposure to the environment. A simple 3d printed camera integrated bracket placed in front of each point of interest (capnometer, pump station, pulse oximeter) would be all that's needed, as it drastically cuts down development time, and is relatively low cost. If you can find a place receptive enough, the solution has merit. You are on the right track!

I will be amazed if Dyson cannot produce something, their all in one motor/blower units could be used with some firmware modification.
