WOW, this is the first time I've heard this one and I can't seem to stop the tears from running down my face. Beautiful and emotive and those lyrics deeply sad but true. Seriously, is there anything Steven Wilson CAN'T do? Most underrated band of all time!!! If these guys were around in the 70s, we'd be asking "Pink who?"
@Mr.Frogleg10 жыл бұрын
I agree that Porcupine Tree is an underrated band, but without bands as Pink Floyd progressive music wouldn't be where it is now!
@Nocturnalis197810 жыл бұрын
Very good point Jesper, I agree. Don't get me wrong, I totally love Floyd, worship them actually, and up until I started listening to PT, they were my favorite band. There's just something about PT that calls to me even more than Floyd, almost like Steven Wilson has created "my" music, the sound I've been looking for my entire life. I know I was exaggerating quite a bit in my comment above but it's just because I'd really love to see these guys get the recognition they deserve.

***** I am still trying to figure out if Gilmour is god or if Wilson is. If Wilson would play the guitar as Gilmour, he would definetely be god.
@Nocturnalis197810 жыл бұрын
Marco Biasone, there are some songs that Wilson plays that are very Floydian. Check out some of his earlier works from the 90s like The Sky Moves Sideways or Voyage 34.

Yes, I have. I was refering to how well they play the guitar, not the style itself.

Hey! Whatta know another Yes lover! I've listened to these guys for about a month now. I'm most impressed with the backing vocal guys harmony. Wilson is good But the guy behind him makes it sound killer!! Cheerio!

it's 5/4. The 5/4 keysboard part in Yes' Long Distance Runaround is a good comparison.

I actually play by feel so odd time signatures kill me too. I believe it is 7/4 because when I count 5/4 in my head and listen I get lost. What I can say with certainty is the top number will be bigger than the bottom number. I have a link to send you but you can just punch in "7/4 time signature" and you'll find drummers playing it.
@allconsuminghat-11 жыл бұрын
I think it's just 4/4 but sounds different because it's syncopated, but I'm not an expert.
