Your hair looks so healthy!! I think you made the right call by using a clarifying shampoo. I agree that all the info. on the internet is overwhelming; however, the stylists I’ve watched seem to agree that clarifying removes oils that would literally fry your strands when coming in contact with a flat iron. I’m saving this video because the review of your findings toward the end makes some solid points for me to consider if I ever work up enough courage to silk press my hair 😭 Tfs!

Hi ❤Thank you so much for watching! My hair is normal porosity But the front has a lower porosity in the video (had damage in the front)☺️I start getting some more damage in my hair and it all changed to low in some of my other videos. Making even harder to get stuff like deep conditioners in my hair. ❤

I’ve seen it done both with a shower cap and without one by professionals. I’ve tried both ways and honestly, as long as you’re not under the steamer too long and the temperature isn’t too high, either way is beneficial.

Is this an every day shampoo and conditioner? Some people say yes, others say no. Thanks!
@entirelyjojo
@entirelyjojo 8 ай бұрын
@BBknits Short answer: I would say yes you can use this as an every day shampoo and conditioner It’s gentle enough in my opinion and 98% natural ingredients. Just a little more info: Before you wash your hair daily make sure you should be washing your hair that often. There is the danger of stripping your hair especially when your hair doesn’t need it. Sebum is actually a good thing. But like I said before Ag is gentle enough in my opinion. Some things to think about when deciding how often you will wash your hair; what type of porosity do you have and what products do you use. If you use alot of gels, products with pore blocking ingredients and or products with chemicals in them you should wash your hair more frequently. If you have a hair type that gets greasy easily you should wash your hair more often. After a big chop I wash my hair everyday or every other day because I put so much product in my hair when I style my short cut. It’s so quick and easy to wash I kinda can’t help myself either. These factors are probably why you see so many different opinions. I hope this help 🥰😘

My scalp has a loooong history of spontaneously burning and/or scabbing. If it happens between wash days, I’ll spray my scalp with cold aloe vera juice by Fruit of the Earth. I don’t love it for my hair strands, but it SAVES my scalp (just used it this past week, in fact). Derma E’s scalp relief serum has worked for me in the past (it has tea tree), but I no longer use it because oils tend to irritate my scalp if left on for more than 12 hours. If the burning/scabbing falls on a wash day, I massage Nizoral shampoo into my scalp and leave it for 5 minutes before rinsing out. This usually does the trick, but if there’s still some residual discomfort, I’ll rinse my scalp with diluted ACV after shampooing, allow it to sit while I deep condition, and rinse it out along with my deep conditioner.

Lemme school the children cause the instructions are misleading do not use this every day I don't care what the instructions say like with any and every protein product u can develop protein overload and your hair will snap off use the products but interchange them with hydrating products too those r the 2 things curls need to thrive protein and hydration so I repeat inter change these with other products than olaplex

So happy to hear your thoughts on this line! I like the shampoo-it strengthens my roots, doesn’t irritate my scalp, and it’s definitely not stripping…however…I’m not completely sold on them calling it a clarifying shampoo if it’s not formulated to remove silicones…aaaand I don’t exactly love that the floral scent reminds me of the petty elders from my church growing up 😆. I’m looking forward to trying the mask, but I think it’s going to be hard for anything to top the lasting juiciness I get from Melanin Haircare’s deep conditioner.

Hi, i do hope you reply as this is very important for me right now. I am at the verge of cutting my extremely damaged hair that keeps breaking. My question is. Do i need to cut my hair and start all over with olaplex or can olaplex work to fix an already damaged hair?
@entirelyjojo
@entirelyjojo Жыл бұрын
Hi! I'm sorry to hear about the breakage i've been there and it's so discouraging. But you got this and you'll get thru it!! 🥰 My short answer: olaplex will help but it won't do it all. So if u work thru the damage u'll also need other great deep conditioners and haircare habits to fix the damage. Trying olaplex before you chop won't hurt, everyones hair is different so give it a try. Long answer: In my experience it really depends on how damaged your hair is. You really need to identify the source of the breakage. Sometimes a big chop is the best way to go. Sometimes you are just missing something in your haircare regimen. Sometime its just too much stress. Stress is so deadly for our hair.. Olaplex is great but it can only do so much. A good trim is a great place to start with breakage. Then check for protein overload or moisture overload either can make your hair break. After you've checked for that go for the olaplex and see how ur hair reacts. Also give ur hair a schedule. Protein once a month, moisturize everyday, every other day or once a week, deep condition every wash with a source of heat.. etc. Give yourself a month or so and see if it makes a difference. If not go for the big chop. There's nothing like a fresh start. I hope this helps. I will say tho for me I cut about 4-5 inches off because the heat damage was just too much and it made my hair journey so much better. Olaplex wasn't enough for me. I hope for you the absolute best! 🥰

The only two things that will make me try Adwoa are; 1. the weight of their products is heavy so a little goes a long way and 2. they don't use double-barrel packaging. As for ingredients, it's the same as every other brand.

Thanks for the great review! Adwoa Beauty’s defining cream really is an amazing product. The price does give pause, BUT a little goes a very long way. I purchased the 16 oz a month ago and have yet to put a dent in it…and it’s my primary defining cream. One other quick thing…It’s the only defining cream that gives true elongation. I’ve tried a few others that claim elongation, when all I got was serious shrinkage 😢😢😢. For a longer hold, so my twist out last for a week, I pair it with Camille Rose Curl Maker and perfection. Happy New Year! 😊

I mean the fact that you had to use this single line’s site as a key in decoding Mielle’s ingredients makes me laugh, feel seen, and gives me a migraine all at once🥲 Navigating my transition to natural hair is making me really regret changing my chemistry major in undergrad…but I digress. I’ve never heard of this company, but I’m a fool for transparency, so I’ll have to look into it. I know I just commented on your recent Adwoa review, but from the looks of it, I think I prefer the way AG’s shampoo behaves. If you weren’t already planning to, can you periodically make a video ranking the products you’ve already tried? Thank you for this review!

Olaplex contains some protein, but it doesn’t contain enough to be considered a protein treatment. It works on the hair’s cortex by temporarily “repairing” disulfide bonds, caused by heat and chemical damage. Protein treatments require hydrolyzed proteins/keratins (small enough to penetrate) high up on the ingredient list and work in a different way by temporarily filling in gaps in the hair. In both cases it’s essential to maintain a balance in one’s hair or protein & moisture.
