I have a 1994 900 clutch pedal is dead and i can ahift into any gear without using the clutch while the motor is running. Bad transmission?
@TerjeNormann22 күн бұрын
You can shift all gears, but the car is not moving? Then moust likely the rubber bushing between the gear sifter assembly and the gear box is is broken. It sits outside in the engine compartment between the gearbox and the fire wall. If so, you find my other video about how to adjust the gear shifter assembly. There I show the bushing, but not how to replace it. But that job is so easy, you will not need any video for to explain how, but after you have replaced it, you need tgat video for to readjust the gear shifter assembly.

No, it is not only good in theory... It is the best way to do it. The water preshure will squeeze the liner into the wall so the foldings hold very well... You also secure the liner by folding it over the top pf the pond edges.

I read that on the Saab 900 the washer pump is powered directly from the switch in the stalk. I didn't care for this as a bad switch = worse performing pump. Plus the whole issue with voltage drop across the wiring. So I installed a relay and made the stalk activate the relay instead of the pump. Now the pump is driven directly off the battery. And that wasn't enough for me so I installed a 2nd pump in series and now it works great!

Great video, THANK YOU! Im prepairing to do the driver's side inner bushings while the engine is out. Is it really necessary to compress and remove the springs to do the inner bushings? I did the passenger side inners (many many years ago) without the benefit of youtube, internet, a proper manual, spring compressor, or even a jack. Wheels remained on the ground, suspension loaded. I probably used a crowbar to get the brackets realigned and bolted. Just wondering, if the outer bushings aren't being replaced, do the springs need to be removed?

Hej Terje, thank you for this helpful video. Concerning the order of bleeding the calipers for non-ABS cars until ‘87: Why in this specific order (right front - left rear - left front - right rear)? From what I have understood from other sources, one starts bleeding with the caliper which is the farthest from the brake fluid reservoir and then gets closer toward it (right rear - left rear - right front - left front). Does the different order has something to do with Saab‘s specific braking system?
@TerjeNormann Жыл бұрын
The order I have specified in the video is the way the Saab Bentley manual say. I also have seen for other car brands the same as you say, so I dont know why the Bentley manual use that order.

hey Terje, do you use any grease around the shifter ball itself? I wonder if vasoline would be a good lubricant in that space?
@TerjeNormann Жыл бұрын
Yes you put greas on the bottom ball joint. Vaseline is a bad choice because it is not sticky enoug and will be squeezed out too far. Use some long fiber grease that does not harm any nylon.

were you not concerned the clock spring would blow up in your face? also do you know the torx size for airbag removal on a stock 1990 900 steering wheel?
@TerjeNormann Жыл бұрын
It is not any spring with tension inside there. It is just a ribbon cable coiled with no tension inside. You just only have to be very careful not to destroy the ribbon. It is a bit fragile. When you put it all together and before you put the steering wheel back on, it is crucial to center the turns of the ribbon as mentioned in the video.
