Budd, there's no province then #CanadianFlavoredFlorida 😅 But the city's are full... the towns are loaded... and the water front is becoming impossible fer fisherman to find waterfront that ain't 100k a 1/10th acre. Heatpumps are over rated. And a car is manitory. Affordable housing is nowheres near any amount of work

The key industries are Construction and Healthcare for jobs. I know of many nurses in their mid-twenties making well into the 6 figures (including overtime). Construction companies have been recruiting workers from across the country for the last few years too. This is why you see so many $70k+ pickup trucks driving around.

Rumor is that the stub of a ticket to the Capital Theater in Pictou, Nova Scotia was found in a German submarine captured in Canadian water.

was looking at a property in nova scotia that said "without restrictions or covenants." Thanks for this great explanation! I think this is Ontario's equivalent of 'unorganized', in which no permits are required, except when burying a septic tank.

My uncle Earl Flemming was the Cape Forchu lighthouse keeper for 5 years in the seventies. I remember going to visit him while he and my dad played cards and I just gazed out onto the ocean at night. It's quite a climb to get to the top. As for Titanic, I can see the main Titanic cemetery from my window as I type this and the headstones(Some personal Titanic vids on my channel) of many of the victims. In K-19 you could see my apartment building in the harbor scene when I was living closer to the harbor. My Bloody Valentine had two of my aunts in it. This is where my aunt Mary got her start in the industry. Working with all the biggest names. She's retired now. So yea, I am very connected to Nova Scotia in many ways. I was born in Annapolis Royal which is also the birthplace of Nova Scotia.

Got to explore the spa before it got demolished. Another cool place to see before it’s completely in the ground is the Teleglobe satellite station in Mill Village from the 60’s. Who knew NS had anything like that for satellite communications. Super cool place minus the ticks…

For the most part, I'd agree. Condo's are generally not a good investment. Historically, they've massively underperformed compared to single family homes. And these days are effectively built to be disposable. The one exception I'd make is for people who are looking for that lifestyle who are not concerned with how much it will be worth in 5, 10 or 20 years (like seniors). Here's another video I made on my opinion of condos: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nXjSioaDg7mbaZI

As a railway enthusiast, i find it sad how even the NSRHS forgot many logging and mining railways on their Railways of Nova Scotia maps. With some of them having very interesting stories to them, like the Weymouth and New France Railway, i am sure some people would like to see it added so they can discover them!

I live in Pubnico, a little North of Yarmouth and I was hoping you would have covered the old "house" on the Tusket Islands. It wasn't like the fishing shanties occuping the islands, it had more of a Mediterranean style, which is not common for Nova Scotia. When I was little, all that was left were the exterior walls, which seemed to be made of concrete or cinder blocks covered in white paint or something and most of the floors, however, they would easily cave in and some people had fallen through them. The roof was reddish (I think), not sure if they were tiles or shingles. I was told that it has been recently torn down, due to the danger it posed.

@@Halifaxrealtor I think so, I don't remember the little "house" next to it, but it's been probably 20 years since I last saw it. Also I guess I was wrong about the exterior walls having white paint. In the video from your link, at the 13:54 mark, it shows the person's foot going through the floor, it was so dangerous, yet us kids would play around in there lol. I'm surprised you looked it up, thank you for that, it was really sweet of you!
