Sounds like these are hydrogen-burning diesel engines (probably with some admixture of diesel like the Florida East Coast natural gas + diesel locomotives). Or did they actually re-engine them with gas engines?

That happens I guess that the engine inside the locomotive overheats and they work hard when they move up hill? That’s my guess

I'll be honest, the CPKC scheme has grown on me! I still think a Grey Ghost or Southern Belle style scheme would've been better but I like this.
