I’ve been struggling with riding lately because whenever I get the slightest bit nervous my body tenses up and I can’t move with my horse properly. Any advise how I can try to stop getting nervous so I’m not so tense? When I’m not tense and nervous I ride really well, so I’m not sure what’s going on

All of those straps are are for safety actually. They keep the bridal from slipping over their ears while riding because if it slips of the horse can get tangled up in it.

It depends on the horse, I don’t believe in harsher bits but like dog bones, chain bits, etc are perfectly fine. Some horses you need a bit some you don’t it all depends on the horse and rider.

I would quit riding if there isn’t any muscle. Feed them forage. 2.5% of there body weight if it every day. Then work with a body worker and slowly do ground work to build muscle and then get in the saddle in a few months when the horse looks and feels good
