I think that Mr. Lennox misspeaks the motivation of atheists. He takes rhetorical licence with what he holds that atheists think. Atheists are also very varied in their thinking. I also think he gives false hope to people who have questions and need an understanding of reality. Unfortunately he trades on being a scientist.

Sure this universe has a creator and a god, but to say that Jesus is god and then say that he died is definitely irrational. Is it reasonable for the creator to die? Could this existence even continue without divine care? The answer is no. The truth is that the existence of the creator is eternal and his survival is eternal. He is the one who created us for a noble purpose as he said in the Quran (to test you as to which of you is best in deed). Do not make preconceived judgments, just read even a few pages of the Quran and then make your final judgment. If you are honest, Allah will guide you to the straight path.

The last temptation was Satan sent 3 of Job’s friends with their theology of health,wealth,and prosperity to all who serve God, so Job was really a sinner not a saint. They slandered and insulted Job. We are in the midst of an evil fallen world. We will all die. Pain also is a blessing because it helps us stay alive. Dr.Paul Brand wrote a book called “ The Gift Nobody Wants”, and it is about how we cannot survive physical life without pain. He worked with lepers in India. They suffer most because they feel no pain. Some people are born without pain and they suffer more and die young. So pain is a blessing inthe physical and in the Spiritual. But let us not forget that fallen angels/ demons use both pleasure and pain to destroy and turn us away from God. The ideologies of man are filled with the doctrines of demons. Ideologies have destructive consequences too.
