CNC is Computer Numeric Controlled machinery. IAW They are high production. Probably started out as a casting. From the picture, I assume they come with the hubs/spokes. And yes, do straight stems. But this is why I’m considering Yamaha. Solid aluminum wheels right from the factory.

FYI, If someone tries to put new Honda Africa twin wheels on their bike, the Transalp front brake rotors and ABS ring will not fit on the AT wheel hubs. The mounting bolt holes do not match. The AT rotors will need to be used. Honda wheel assemblies are sold separately from the rotors. The cost of just the new Africa twin front wheel and the rotors from Honda will be higher than both VMX front and rear rims together.

There is precious little out there on these rims. You allayed my concerns about many things. Many thanks! My wife is actually pretty cool with my accessory buying. But I’m kind-of not looking forward to $2K for wheels conversion. “I could swear I saw wheels when you were riding it…” 😅

Cheaper v strom comes with tubeless spoked rims. What a shame honda.

To be clear - yes the 2024 V-Strom 650XT comes with Tubless wheels, but they are 19/17" vs. 21/18.

yes, TransAlp can reuse Africa Twin rims with no modify needed, but Honda still don't equip them for TransAlp

Awesome video! I was researching these wheels for my transalp and looking for any information or opinion I can get. Thank you for taking the plunge for the rest of us. Really appreciate your show and tell. Please let us know how you like them after a few months. I'm sure there are going to be people talking trash but the reality is that only a few will be abusing a $10,000 bike we bought with our own cash without a care to the point of bending decent wheels.

thanks for sharing! I loved seeing those side roads off I-90. We even were able to see our campsite among the other rigs. Our truck wasn't there, but our brown octagon popup shelter was clearly visible. I'm guessing you flew the drone for that shot on Friday. My wife crashed her bike at the SheADV class that day, and broke her collarbone, so we spent that time at the ER in Leavenworth!
