I must be really old. I knew a few of these guys. Del Insko, Joe Marsh, Eddie Cobb.i saw quite a few of others when they showed up in Chicago, mostly Sportsman Park. Great stuff.

The amount of talent and “ fixed” races in that bunch….. We need a computer to add all that up. But talent, tons and tons. Herve would have had 25,000 plus winners if he didn’t stiff so many. Oh well, it is what it is.When you had mob involved, you do what you are told. The sad truth in those days, especially in NY and NJ at that time. Waiting for some donk to comment how wrong i am…. Lol

In 1978 and Roosevelt Raceway I hit the in the last race with two $6 boxes they would have longest shots on the board with Lucien Fontaine winning the race and the odds with 30 35 and 49 and that driver was Paul Appel the trifecta paid only $3,200 which was the total fucking robbery they ran around the track what the number 4 and the number 6 the two favorites the one and two with nowhere to be found and a Longshot the number five got third at 49 to 1 the trifecta should have paid at least 15 to 20 thousand dollars and it took the control room about 15 minutes to put the price up they knew something was fishy I was totally robbed that Trifecta should have paid between 15 and $20,000 but I found out to connections that I had that that time at Fontaine and his boys had a big time and how did was fontaine's connections will the 6446 combination up and down hundreds of times they took 90% or more of the pool down they all bet in the seventies and eighties when I get information I was loaded with money now in my old age I'm broke got to know what horses in shape in the race and if the driver is going with that horse cut down the odds in the racer what was his going to win and you win a lot of money depending on how much you bet I know because my friends are in the game and in the barns we didn't get information all the time but when we got it most of the time we won the program didn't mean much just the name of the horse and the driver when I was in my twenties in the 70s and 80s one of my friends went to a top harness driver for 12 years from 1968 to 1980 and when we got information that aleph-one all the time now I still play the game the hardest game with no information I'm always broke and if I win I don't win big money at all that's the truth I'm 74 and I've been around all over the place goodnight in the bond you don't know any drivers you don't know what's going on you're going to lose not all the time but most of the time and that's a fact that's what I have to say and it's the truth I have lost thousands and thousands of dollars in the game and I know people that were in the game at the only gambled on that particular sport had tons of money because you can't gamble morning on the Night On Every Damn Sport and go to Atlantic City and Vegas no matter how much money you win Case Closed goodbye!

Never knew much about harness racing until they knocked down the batting cages and pitch & putt on route 3 and built the Meadowlands, from that point forward I fell in love with it ! Remember seeing Rambling Willie and Sonsam and so many great horses but was sad I never got to go to Roosevelt Raceway but many other tracks of the northeast from Yonkers to Bass Park and so many more !!
