I’ve got this exact vehicle, 2006 V6 AWD, bought used in 2018. They are known for the transmissions going bad, and mine does make some noise while shifting, especially if I don’t let it warm up, but(knock on wood), this has been constant since purchase and it shifts just fine. The vehicle is actually a bit of a sleeper, folks don’t expect it to accelerate as fast as it does; would be even faster if it didn’t have the extra weight of the AWD system. The AWD has proven to help a bunch up here in the wet/snowy Pacific Northwest. I got mine for only $5K USD, with 135K miles, so I can tolerate the negatives; overall, I’m quite pleased. Cheers!

Out of curiosity do/did you get good highway mpg? Thank you in advance!
@crow-vz5lx3 жыл бұрын
11.9km per ltr equals 27.99 mpg So. According to this equation you average 23.05 mpg
@crow-vz5lx3 жыл бұрын
9.8 ltrs =2.6 gallons. He probably misread it > 98 ltrs. = 26 gallons, which is more reasonable lol. (I'm rounding up) The awd gets like 23or so. But can be better driving modest and on highways.

The Saturn Vue is really cool. Love the Saturn body panels with dent resistant plastic and the Honda engine. Pontiac and Saturn made better cars than Chevy back in the early and late 2000’s

I experience some torque steer on an old 2004 Vue as well with the Honda engine. Amazing acceleration, but kind of annoying to maneuver under acceleration.
@SilverScarletSpider5 жыл бұрын
Max0r847 Torque steer comes from suspension and chassis design in most FWD, has nothing to do with engine. I love the Saturn Vue too

Lol, actually it turned out that the tires were very unevenly inflated. Most of it went away once I rectified that. I'd do further testing but I'd rather not press my luck. I can't afford to be a car hobbyist at this time :) And yea, of course, it's the net difference in power delivery and then traction that does that. Can't really blame the engine.

Honda V6 transmissions are garbage during this years. I changed to a 2.2l 5 spd manual. I love it

Don't you like how you have zero rust on this 12 year old truck? It's a 250 hp V6 awd truck made in 2004. 15 years ago it was the first SUV Crossover to offer decent power for towing (3500lbs) for a great low price. In 2008 I bought a 2006 Vue for 10K CAD. The cheapest Rav4 V6 was going for ++20K (first year with the V6 was 2006). Today most SUVs offer this amount of power but back then the VUE received negative feedback because most reviewers said that having this much power in a SUV is ridiculous and unpractical. Now it is a standard.

I guess its not a true awd because of that torque steer

4WD: it’s a system that sends power to all four wheels equally and without vectoring (controlling the division of power delivery between the wheels or axles), meaning each wheel will spin at the same constant rate as all the others. Because 4WD doesn't work good on-road (in a turn, each wheel has to spin at a different rate), 4wd system added an ON/OFF switch to turn 4WD off if your on-road. They call it part-time 4WD AWD: Similar to the “part-time four-wheel drive system” we just described, except for cars and some crossover SUVs, and note also that it’s completely automate (no switch needed). The system is constantly active and needs no activation or input from the driver to work. However, most newer all-wheel-drive vehicles send power to a primary axle, either the front for front-wheel-drive-based all-wheel-drive systems (like Subarus). Whenever the vehicle’s systems sense a loss of traction, it will electronically and physically divert power away from the slipping wheels to the wheels with traction.

I bought my V6 Vue new in 2006. Still have it, love it. No reliability issues whatsoever. Good smooth power from the Honda engine (the same engine as in the $40,000+ Honda Odyssey, Honda Pilot and Acura MDX). One of the best vehicles I have ever owned (and I've owned over 20).
