You reference the V3 detectors and the MXT's but I'm curious to your thought on the 13" Detech on a DFX. I know a lot of people had a hard time with it's settings but I've used one since around 2001 I believe. I've used the 10" DD but went gack to the 950 only because I was too impatient to learn it and I do (IMO) exceptionally well with it. I get good depth but mostly I can really ID targets great using the DC Phase feature. I'm obviously older now and more patient so I wouldn't mind trying the DD's again. I'm hunting colonial farm fields in the northeast that's not overrun with iron where the larger coil might be difficult. Am I better off, in your opinion, with sticking with a 10" DD or is the 13" Detech worth the investment? Also is the 5.3 a DD or is it a concentric coil. I had one years ago but I don't remember now. I do remember that it went deeper then I thought it would and really worked well but unfortunately someone stole it from me at a hunt years ago when my nephew left it in the back of the truck. I still like using the DFX although I am planning on buying the Deus II next spring. I figure I'll hunt out the rest of the year with a machine that I know well before I go through that learning curve with the Deus II. Thank you for any info you recommend

Um hello , Just in case your still have a active channel. The MXT 300 DE TUNING is the same as the pro. Correct or no. And how best to set up Double D coil for prospecting on the MXT 300. Love the videos.

Alternatively, put the phone cup on your desk and push straight down. A bit less haphazard and easier on the components.

Better still, drive a thin Phillips head wood screw in, then pull straight out with pliers end on. Wood screws have a coarser thread, better grip in the rubber.

Thank you! I received my sliders and installed them as shown. Getting the post into the headphone is a trick, takes lots of pressure. These saved me after my cat chewed the old ones off, all is now forgiven, and he can come out from under the bed.

You say you like larger coils for the beach, but would that be for the dry sand, the area between low and high tide lines or detecting in the actual water? I don't have my White's machine any longer. What's your general opinion for coil type and size when detecting in the water of a freshwater beach, regardless of detector brand, assuming the shallow water being searched isn't very trashy? Do you suppose I should use a very large, large or medium sized DD or a very large, large or medium sized concentric coil for that. The beach is question had heavy swimming activity 150 years ago, so I want to go deep, but since I've never detected it, I'm not sure how tightly grouped the targets will be. Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions. Thanks for any advice.
@BigBobbyB
@BigBobbyB 3 жыл бұрын
I would use a smaller coil to start with. If its not too trashy you might want to move to a larger coil later for more depth
@PureBlood42
@PureBlood42 3 жыл бұрын
@@BigBobbyB - Thanks, I'll try that approach. I'm thinking too, it'll probably be easier in my arm if I do my water searching vertical to the shoreline, so I won't have to fight the waves and currents coming at the coil from the side.

There is good business and there is funny business. Just the surf ll headset alone by its self is funny business. I plan on buying a new submersible rig from a quality manufacturer if there is such a place. So long Whites. The mighty Silver Eagle and XLT will hold a place of prominence in the treasure room. I have prohibition gold and silver to dig, not be hunting down parts for obsolete detectors.

I found that the easy way to soften them up bebore trying to press the new sliders into the headset is to drop the sliders into a hot cup of water for a few minutes. Lube and push in.

How I got rid of the rattle from the broken piece. If you inject a little windshield leak repair silicone glue ( from the auto parts store) inside it while holding it with the speaker up , then shake it a little so the lose peace gets stuck in the glue then put it together, do one at a time and let the glue dry on one side then do the other side the next day. make sure the speaker stays up until the glue dries. You don't want to get the glue on the speaker. it worked for me. Don't over do it on the glue. I also use a syringe with no needle to put the glue in.
