I'd like to speak to the person in charge of coordinating the pianos for the individual recitals. I really would like to understand the mechanics behind in. On the hand you got a full concert grand Blüthner for a lady, whose name I haven't heard before, but on the other hand a composer/pianist like Frederic Rzewski playing one of the icons of 20th century piano solo masterpieces, a piece he composed himself - and all you got him at the same venue was an out of tune Steinway C. That's pretty sad, and a lost opportunity.

Pianists with great technique get the better piano. Evelyne is an absolute genius. I have never heard of the guy you were talking about.

@@erikeriknorman Then you'd better educate yourself on pianists and their technique and their repertoire. And when you haven't heard of Frederic Rzewski as an icon of 20th century piano music, then I really think you may want to take the piece of advice in my first sentence more seriously. He's dead by now, so no hurry on reading up on iconic masterpieces of the 20th century and their interpreters. And before you question my judgement, just do a search on youtube for "Rzewski" and "Hammerklavier". We can take it from there or simply let it rest when it comes to discussing technique.

Evelyne Brancart was a student of the phenomenal pianist/pedagogue Eduardo Del Pueyo. As a young pianist, I had the privelege of studying with him privately during the final 2 years(1985-86) of his life. What a blessing!❤❤

Awesome duet, especially their bringing out the voices in the piece (not easy to do). Also Cobern's evident cheerful foot accompaniment. Great to see them not just making music but the enjoyment too. The audience got the message as well, including the youngest :-)

Amazing talent and creativity as well. Funny how he looks the public in search of hands clapping during his performance, but hey, you're not playing in the USA, we wait 'till the end of the piece, at least.

This may seem like damming with faint praise, but for me it’s a high compliment: Chiu often reminds me of Jacques Loussier in the way he reveals the essence of a piece - from Chopin to Debussy and Gao Ping - but seems to present it in a new light, one that both illuminates from afar and glows within. That sounds like drivel, but Chiu does not. By the way, I once had to run (quietly, I hope) out from a Prokofiev recital due to a coughing fit! My loss.

Absolutely delightful to listen to! Ethan plays with a very unique style and it so refreshing. His interpretations are a real pleasure to the ears, and he plays flawlessly. He is a true professional and an excellent pianist. A true joy to hear him play!
