I love how she would just emerse herself in the song and let it be what it's supposed to be. If anyone could commit to a song, it's Ms Fittzgerald.

🎼Do you know what it means to miss New Orleans I miss it, each night and day I know I'm not wrong, The feelings are getting stronger The longer I stay away. Miss the moist covered vines The tall sugar pines Where mocking birds use to sing And I like to see the lazy Mississippi Are hurrying to spring. The mardy grass memories Of creool tunes that fill the air. I dream of orleanders in June, And soon I'm wishing that I was there. Do you know what is means to miss New Orleans When that's where you left your heart. And there is something more, I miss the one I care for More than I miss New Orleans.

Watching Big Sid's facial expressions makes me wonder if Papa Jo Jones took some lessons from him. I love them both! I was born too late to hear either of them in person.

I love them both but I would much rather watch Big Sid all day and all night. If I had a time machine, I would beg him for drum lessons. His personality flows into and back out of, his drum kit. Watching him play with Louis Armstrong is amazing!

I came here because I recently saw an interview that Freda Payne did with Sherri. Freda made an ignorant comment. She said Ella did not look how she thought Ella would look because hearing Ella on the radio, Ella’s voice was clear, articulate and did not shout the lyrics. As a black woman, I was thinking what did Freda think Ella would like . Her?
