Friends, family. cousins I pushed to (nothing). People I work with, 2 subscribed, 1 comment from 1 then nothing. Not even mention when new things go out, in conversation at work. I changed channel names a few times as dropped things. Drone died so reference I once had. Kept up explores and history. Drone replaced, name change again. Think name changes OK. Tried the Facebook thing, big groups, even joined local things where holiday was to push, could not even give drone shots away to the camp site caravan (private ones) owners. nothing, no interest in my freebies. Facebook dead to me now, keep for selling groups, job groups. no work since summer :( I had Flickr, Instagram a few times, they never last. I have now gave my last KZbin video. getting a few old things that where on Version 1 and never went back. Gave all can. Thankless task for 8 years over 2 attempts. As was Google maps and other things I pushed on. No once a comment saying got from that, off the back of it. My giving to anything days are over. now to crack on with life, record days out, holiday activities for me. No getting stressed doing scenes over and over again thinking about people that don't give a stuff. Moan over. I got a Bristol, Bath playlist. See you mention and got some web links in reference to it. I did the bath 2 tunnels loop. 12.5 mile or so bike ride, 2 railway tunnels 2017. Started from a park and ride (nice toliet block), down to a supermarket by the water a quick ride away. Lidl, aldi?, then off. I did 3 times, the bike (electric) and me running out of power. Not stick on Version 2 and never kept on computer. Not got that video or might have stuck it back on this 2021, V2

The press said the same of Paignton but it’s the council also that has giving up on the town. Visited this year and there are loads of started projects that have not been finished. Their shopping section road has been left unfinished and in a dangerous state.
@NicolaExploresКүн бұрын
In Paignton or Burnham-on-Sea? There is definitely room for improvement on the overall look of the shopping areas - the problem is that Councils don't keep up with basic maintenance of public areas and waste their money on pointless jobs and much more besides. It's a miracle that so many businesses still do thrive! I haven't visited Paignton for years, what's it like these days?

@@NicolaExplores I'll let you know. Thanks again for being brilliant. Your videos really do make a difference. I've walked Burnham Beach so much recently, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I've got some good exercise (body and brain). I've seen Oystercatcher, Shelduck, Curlew, Wagtail and Redstart. I thought about family as I walked along the beach too. I remember my grandfather telling me about when he would jump into the sea from the wall of the Pavilion (probably around the late 1920's). There's a close family connection with a house at the Berrow end of the Burnham Esplanade, so that gave me something to think of. Also, it was great to walk alongside the wreck of the SS Nornen. I had never seen it before but had always wanted to. I walked through St Andrews churchyard (I find churchyards fascinating). I visited the Marine Cove Gardens and noticed a bench there dedicated to a school friend who has passed away. Anyway, I guess I'm saying that your videos have influenced me to do things that I should've done ages ago and should do more often. I thought I knew my local area but your videos open the eyes to all sorts of locations and ideas. I'll be heading to Cornwall soon. Thanks for all your hard work. Hopefully see you on your travels.

This was super interesting Nicola! I can wholeheartedly agree with your comments. You are right - KZbin is hard! However, I love it and I am fortunate to do it as a hobby as I am retired now. The income helps cover travel expenses. Like you, I have a bit of a variety channel - my most popular videos are ones about canals and railways, and I have an audience that returns to watch those, and they tend to be people viewing who live in the Westcountry. However, I still make other videos covering the whole of the West & South West. The Cotswold Walking ones attracts more of an international audience, particularly USA & Canada, and the coastal South West ones attract occasional viewers wanting to know where to go and visit and stay in Devon & Cornwall. I also do fairly frequent photography ones, which, although not quite so popular, attracts a different audience again. I do a have a core audience though that watches and comments on every video I put out - they are wonderful people! Thank you for the mention! It's Paul by the way, not Richard, but don't worry, I sometimes get name checks wrong too in my monthly vlogs. You have a great channel - the only other tip I can suggest, and it is an obvious one, is just putting out regular and consistent quality content that you know you'll audience, or particular section of your audience, will like. All of the South West KZbin community that I have met are really fab and lovely people, like Darren, Martin, Louise, Watto & Kim, and Jesse. It'd be great to do a collab in the future for some of us to meet up - I have done a few of these now - most recently in Ludlow. They are good fun, and it is good meeting like minded people. Thanks again, and good luck with your channel. Happy creating! Paul

I’m not too sure I will make another video of this kind but I didn’t have time to do a travel one this week and this was quite easy to put out there and it’s nice to hear that people have similar experiences. I’d definitely be up for a group collab event in the new year. Sounds fun.

Excellent. What a great journey you've been on. I like, at the beginning, how you filmed the tour bus from a distance giving the impression that this was the bus you were on at the time. Adds great imagery to the story telling. I remember my dad doing something similar on our holiday to Guernsey in the early 1980's. He filmed shots from on board the Sealink ferry (the Earl Godwin) on our way to Guernsey, then on our second day there he went back to the quayside to film Earl Godwin arriving from another trip and edited it into the video of our holiday giving the impression that it was our voyage that was arriving at the quayside at Guernsey. Anyway, I'm babbling now. Great video Nicola. Thank you so much.

I have been to Burnham on Sea loads of times with my parents having a Caravan at Brean Sands and I havent seen any adverse reports on Burnham on Sea. It is a quaint old wold Holiday centre in Somerset with some nice old world Restaraunts and a gloriouse beach that stretches from Burnham through Brean Sands right down to Brean Down. The sea at Burnham is not exctly the sea but the Estuary of the River Severn/ Bristol Channel with one of the Highest tidal flows in the UK and the reason for the high tidal walls is that in the 1970's it suffered from a small sunamie caused by a small eartquake out in the Bristol Channel which flooded Burnham and the sarrounding area, but to me Burnham on Sea is a lovely place to visit with some great sunsets

@@pantani9886 worlds apart! I’m self-employed but I don’t currently earn a penny from KZbin which I started sixish months ago… I am hoping I will get there eventually but I am feeling a bit demoralised at the moment as this video has got off to a poor start… Anyway, I was a shopkeeper until six months ago and that went really well. I closed the bricks and mortar part of the shop and now sell online only. Not sure if you saw my Bath Abbey episode, but you’ll notice I mentioned The Bath Art Shop…that’s one of them. The Bristol Shop is another and Eclectic Gift Shop the third. That was the bricks and mortar one. What food did you buy? Really can’t beat the food over there, it is so fresh and bursting with flavour. They’d never put up with the poor quality of the likes of Greggs and so on over there. Not sure I would fancy a cruise but each to their own. My passion for travel is around Europe and I did a lot of that in my early-mid twenties so great to do more again now that I don’t have the responsibility of a physical premises or staff. Earning less but living more and I am happy with that….although some dollars from watch hours would be nice eventually 😅 I guess I am still learning and hopefully my videos will improve as they’re not doing too well are they 😬 Thanks for commenting again and watching, it does help 😊

Catania was still busy, but not overly so...there's a good mix of tourists and locals there so I don't mind the busyness when its locals going about their daily lives at markets and so on. When we visited Taormina in April, it was very beautiful, but was mostly full of tourists and not very reflective how people live in the country.
