Sailed the Getaway for years at a resort, those plastic rudders you could feel flexing in the water. EPO 3s on the 16 are the way to go, miss my hobie 16 days

I think you need to test on something like a broad reach with waves coming at you from the side to unsettle the boat. Or some condition similar to when you cross behind a large ship’s wake.

Are red protest flags a thing of the past? Kept one attached in a tube under the end of the boom for regattas.. but that was 40 years ago.

RRS 61.1(2) says that "if the hull length of the protesting boat is less than 6 metres, she need not display a red flag." 6 metres is 19.69', so no flag is required.

hey Bradly good job you make it look easy. i have a question, i have the same trailer its a little dude and it says that can hauls 2000 lbs. do you think the same trailer can haul an at and a hobie cat at the same time? do you think i should upgrade the rim wheels for a little bigger ones im planning to drive about 2000 miles... thanks

Try following the wind more with the rudder to keep the hull at a certain height above the water. As the hull comes up, point a bit more into the wind. As it comes down, pull and fall off a bit grabbing more wind. Should be able to fly the hull without messing with the sheets. You'll be surprised at just how much control over the power by using the rudder. Have fun, flying the hull endlessly.
@HobieHighLife3 ай бұрын
On a beam reach you actually need to turn down to reduce heel. Turning up just makes the hull fly higher. This day was VERY gusty so it was hard after 5 miles to be on top of every puff.
