Great to hear from you Robin! I think Charlie's piece is a real winner. I hope people will listen to it. Pass the word if you can. Due to being hacked and intimidated on Facebook, my account was suspended and must be closed.

Daughter joined the alumni band after she graduated. Now she wants me to pick up the T-bone and join as well. It's been exactly 30 years since I've played. lol, this should be interesting.

Good luck! Start slow. Make sure you rest as much as you play (more rest at first). Long tones.

What a great piece we performed almost 25 years ago. How time flies!

Wow!!! He sang this WELL! I particularly love his agility on the grace notes and triplets! And, his ornamentations made sense musically. He understands appoggio, and from what I can tell, appoggio is muscle memory for him! And, his voice, itself, honestly reminds me a bit of Mario Lanza. Some of Christopher's warmth and richness... I loved this!! Thank you so much for uploading this! Susan

excellent beginning! lesson! It was a little difficult for my eyes with the moving from camera to camera so quickly, but that is just a minor thing. ( even though we are playing in Major key LOL)

Visiting back since January 2018 when I first heard my wind symphony was gonna play this song and wanted to practice. Gosh Its been 5 years. Now I stand proud in January 2023 looking at Symphony in B flat and just glad that the song has stayed so interesting and dark-spoken. It will forever be one of my favorite Wind Symphony pieces I've ever played. Oh and as of Jan 2023 there's emotes on KZbin. 😛

What a fabulous piece of music! So sorry for the poor video quality. It is too bad we did not have great video cameras back then. I hope the video editing is not over the top. Since there were only 2 cameras, one back and one front, we had to use aggressive video editing to keep things interesting. We hope you enjoy!

@maestrobamusic2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am finally back at it. My wife had a stroke and I am her care giver now with little time to do anything else, covid-19 happened, we had to move from the house we lived for 18 years, and other life events. I am finally back to practicing almost every day. I have lots more lessons already "in the can" but they are not yet edited for publication. So soon there will be more lessons published. Also in my new home I have lots more room to record more video for further lessons. So, check back soon. Thanks for your interest.

I've seen so many performances of the Four Seasons on youtube and this is for me the best. Stephan is masterful in this performance and brings out all the beauty of Vivaldi's incredible work. The First movement of Winter is especially magical.

Hi Michael, I too started playing again seriously after about 48 years off and have now been playing for 2.5 years. Over the years I have bought a couple horns but sold one and donated one, taken lessons that didn't last but finally got the "bug" again and I love it more than ever. I try to practice and play every day if I can. Do a lot of long tones and lip slurs and realize that the slurs help the most with high notes but if I miss a day or two it is like starting all over again trying to hit them. My biggest problem is I tend to miss some notes attempting to play (hit the next octive lower instead) and often my tone sounds "spitty" if you know what I mean. Been playing a lot of older Beatles music whose melodies seem like they are made for the trombone. Toby Oft, Marshall Gelkes, Ejiro Nakagawa, and Michael Munzert are amazing to try and emulate. Any more lessons would be appreciated and your thoughts are also. Take care and good luck to you.

I’m looking forward to playing again after 44 years. I was proficient back then. I even bought a trombone. My mother sold my original trombone when I went off to college in 1977. Thank you Michael.
