Finally a great explanation about licensing. Just a quick question that is not clear for me on License Guide.. Using Power Apps Per App, we have access to SharePoint? Or we need to buy a office 365 license?

Already got stuck at 3:50, I don't have the "Purchase services" button. Gotta love MS! Edit - It was renamed to Marketplace. Also if nothing shows, trigger the dark mode for whatever reason the products will show.

PowerApps Hi there! Thanks again for this video! I have one more question. Could you please help me understand the below: We have multiple PowerApps apps in our environment. Case 1: If there are multiple apps that use Premium features, and we get one PowerApps per App licence, how does the license get allocated to a particular user for a particular application? Is it allocated to a random app, is it allocated to the app the user first tries to use or some other process? I’m curious to know. Case 2: Of the multiple PowerApps apps we have, only one requires Premium features to run. In this case, would the license be automatically assigned to the app that requires Premium features? Thank you.

Thanks for a great video. If I wanted to extract this license data, who has which license, etc. do you perhaps know where this data is stored?
@kolbybeck17028 ай бұрын
You can view that data in either the micrsoft admin portal where the licenses are purchased, or in the power platform admin center. I will say though that the power platform admin center isn't 100% perfect yet at showing the data accurately. ie I had a client who had purchased 50 per app licenses but in the admin center it said they had 130. Strange.

Microsoft told me I needed one premium developer licence then anyone in our company could use an app that I made.
@navarrocloud8 ай бұрын
Is this in writing somewhere? Would like to learn more about this.
@kolbybeck17028 ай бұрын
If that app only connects to a standard datasource like SharePoint then yes that might be the case. But if your app is using premium connectors then each person will need a license.

I'm convinced there's some twisted form of solidarity movement going on at Microsoft regarding licensing. Someone must have decided there is a huge opportunity worth pursuing for other people to make a living and develop material for Microsoft customers explaining, in plain English, how to license their services! Why can't Microsoft explain it so simply?! Your video has made it so much simpler to understand this per-app scenario. Thanks so much!

great video! Crystal clear. But I'm facing a problem. I have assigned licenses to the environment but the users are still not able to access the app. I'm not able to see gthe assigned per app license in the 'licenses' section. Can you help on why this may happen?
@kolbybeck17029 ай бұрын
Give your users a direct link to the app and see if they are able to open it. You might be running into Just in Time Provisioning which means they won't be synced into your environment's security group until they try and open the app.

Thank you very much for this video. I agree with what you said at the beginning about how confusing licensing is. It is beyond confusing. I can't believe one of the largest software companies (Microsoft) gets away with this. It's like they intentionally tried to make it so hard to navigate and understand. I've spent several hours just trying to figure out how to get an external user licensed. Had I known this going into it, I would have seriously considered an alternative to Power Apps for this project. As a software engineer who has not worked for Microsoft, I would love to hear from some ex-Microsoft software engineers. I can only imagine what a shitshow patched up mess the code base is.
@kolbybeck17029 ай бұрын
I would like to see the code base as well! Getting external users access to Power Apps is tricky because they have to be guest users in your tenant.

You define a site as being a collection of things and then start talking about site collections. But then you mention sites can be collected into hubs. So from that point forward when you say "Site Collection" are you talking about the hub or the site? Why don't you just keep it simple and just call them sites and hubs? Your presentation was unnecessarily confusing. You should have made clear whether "Site" and "Site Collection" are synonymous or not, and if not, what's the difference.

Hi, I have an app which connects Power Automate Desktop using a cloud flow and also it has some File System connectors which uses Data Gateways (to create file on local folder). If I assign a per app license for this app, whether all my connectors will work ? (Usage of Power Automate desktop thru cloud flow seems a premium one and I believe data gateway also is premium ) Any input for this scenario will be appreciated 😊

Thanks for the video, I have a report that is embedded into a Sharepoint site, the Power BI Sign In prompt always displays. Makes sense that now one must authenticate credentials to see report. Is there a way to not have that Sign In pop up? My requirement is to not have the users sign in, they just want to go to the Sharepoint site and see report. We have Premium licensing. Thanks!

Awesome video! Really easy to understand :) Do you know how to sync new columns created in Dataverse, to BC - i.e. a new column is created in Dataverse on Account, and I want to use that column in the Integration Table Filter for CUSTOMER. The field doesn't show up when editing the filter on the Filter Page
@JourneyTEAM111 ай бұрын
Hi there! you need to customize BC so that BC has knowledge of that field, so that the field can be used in the filter. And if necessary, map that field to a BC field. Good luck!
