After many of these Chicago Electric DC upgrade videos, yours is the best. You are the most descriptive and you go over the entire process. Love the fact you had an actual DC welder to compare to for reference. I did this all to mine and I couldn't be more happy with the result. Thank you, sir for doing what you do! 8:01

Thanks so much for this. I either have a carb issue or governor issue. Mine doesn't over rev but the throttle doesn't really respond like its supposed to and kind of surges. I think I'll replace the governor gear when grass cutting season is over. Thanks again, really good video sir.

Great video. Thank you!But sir, you must use more water in your black tank! More water! I have a 20 gallon black water tank and mine is never that dark. Also when flushing your tank you should have a back flow valve so you don't contaminate your house system. NY state requires them at every campground outlet so they must know!

can also/use 1 - vacuum it ( clean and use new vacuum filter for more suction power) - especially in apartments 2- cover/tape up the fan and circuit board ( if visible ) and hose it down ( walk in shower stall or outside ) 3- aerosol/electronic air duster

I can't wait to do mine right now! that unit looks much like our older two tube model for fresh cool air in and hot exhaust air out which are so hard to find nowadays! 10 years worth of dust should make quite a cloud and makes me wonder why an exterior filter isn't placed on the cover itself!

You should convert your portable ac unit into a dual hose unit so that it will be way more efficient in cooling your space!

I know! Right? Those single hose units only suck air back out of a dwelling what had just been cooled in the first place, now the two duct units for some reason are hard to come by, and so are 14000 BTU units which in my opinion should be the starting point for a home! Anything less is garbage and 8000 BTU units should not even be considered except to cool a tool shed!

@@agems56 I have a 12,500 btu which I bought from a special store where they sell returned merchandise at Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, etc.. I paid $200! It was a steal! I use it in my bedroom only. Does a really good and quick job!

Why not just use AC coil cleaner? That high pressure air can damage those finns you talked about!

Thank god I found someone with my problem, have Costco wall or fence mounts and light staying on , can’t see photocell on the outside but will now open for internal inspection

Best solution is actually spraying it out with a water hose. Better for cleaning between fins. Then just leave it for a few days to dry out completely before plugging in again.

I have this brand of AC but it is a dual hose. I cannot figure how to remove the chassis and have removed a dozen screws already but it still won’t release 🤦🏼‍♀️ the evaporator wheel? Is caked with dust as well and cannot access the screws either. So frustrating! This is an excellent video though so thanks for sharing!

Great video. Question? When you made the extension cord with the alligator clips attached. I’m assuming the ext cord had three wires. How did you connect the three wire to the two wire ? Which wire from the ext cord was combined/or not, to the two wire. Or should I find a similar cord that’s two wire? Hope I explained my question completely. Thanks in advance for your reply.

I've been given some dead solar lights to fix up. I know they're not really worth fixing and are meant to just be replaced, but I like to try and fix anything that stops working. Almost all of them were badly corroded and sustained damage to the LEDs and the JD1803 4-leg IC (one leg broke off when trying to clean it). One light only just had the 4-leg IC get damaged (same leg fell off after trying to clean it). I managed to repair the IC by soldering a tiny wire to the little bit of metal still exposed on the chip and connecting the other end to the pad where the 4th leg connects to. This got the light working again. However, unfortunately, it appears the light/dark sensing has failed. I'm guessing it's a panel issue. There doesn't appear to be a LDR on this light. Instead, I see 2 wires going to 2 separate black blobs. This is what it looks like: imgur.com/IdNLRbS Any idea what this is and if it's repairable? If so, what is needed? I did try scraping away at this blob on one of the unfixable lights, but I couldn't quite make out what was there. Definitely not one of those LDRs shown in this video.

Nice video. I see it claims to be capable of 10’ of lift. Have you tried this, and if so how much does it slow down? I’m wondering how it would do pushing waste up to a blue boy in the bed of a pickup, as people do when boondocking with rough road between the camp spot and dump…

Thanks for the question. The Macerator pump has a built-in check valve on the side port that blocks any backflow into the 3/4" hose used for flushing. Also, there's a similar check valve built into the 3" clear black tank outlet adapter I used to show the flow. The flushing hose is only used to flush the black tank and not for filling the fresh water tank. Care needs to be taken to avoid cross contamination into the clean water supply. Also, the 3/4" discharge hoses from the macerator are only used for this purpose and never anything else. Great question!

Thanks for the comments! The word "flimsy" is accurate. The legs are particularly flimsy. However, I still use it and it hasn't cracked or failed yet.

I have two of these saws and they work when there's no load, but when I try to cut wood, they craps out. Ryobi said it was either the board ($75) or the motor($120) I reconnected the wires to no avail. I replaced the trigger on one and ir worked for a couple minutes, but then BLAH!!! .Check the muffler on the Homelite saw. It was rattling. I'm going to check ALL my ryobi connections now after seeing you fix this saw. Thanks!m LOVED THE BLOOPERS!

Hope you get the saws fixed. My son has the identical saw. It works just fine and has made hundreds of cuts without any issues. I may take his apart at some point and see how the motor connections are in his saw for comparison. Thanks for noticing the muffler on the Homelite saw - a quick fix. Thanks for watching!

Throw away the garbage connectors and solder the wires together.

In the factory: 10 seconds to screw on a connector VS a minute to solder the wires together. I was really surprised to see how poorly the connection were made. Thanks for watching.

If you still have this mower, it’d be great if you could do a video reviewing the throttle and choke adjustments. That is, the position of the carburetor fans when it’s in choke, full throttle and low idle. Thank you!

Since that first 1 horsepower stainless steel Drummond Harbor freight water pump tank rusted out so bad in just 2 years why did you go and buy another 1 that was basically the same exact thing? Don't you think maybe you should have bought the 1 horsepower cast iron 1 instead or something different or why do you like this certain kind in particular just curious?

Thanks for watching!! I had the two year replacement warranty from Harbor Freight, so the replacement was at no extra cost above what I paid for the warranty at the time of original purchase. The replacement is actually better quality and has performed well and shows no signs of rusting through after the first season of use. If it fails and I can't easily fix it, I'll look for another brand. A good cast iron pump can last for a decade or more. A fiberglass pressure tank would be better than steel. We'll see . . . . I appreciate your comments.

Hmmm? I pondered your comment for hours . . . Did I violate the laws of physics, or worse defy the ethics code of the DIY Plumbers and Slop Sink Consortium? How could I have possibly screwed this slop sink to my wooden sub floor during construction work on my kitchen? Indeed the sink CAN be screwed to the floor, and, indeed, I did this. Well, at least temporarily. The legs have a flange at the base that allows this. To use an impact driver to insert the screws into the floor, the bottom shelf needs to be lifted off. In the quest for full disclosure, once it was moved to its permanent resting spot in the basement as a laundry tub, I didn't screw it down onto the concrete floor. I'll post a time mark showing the flange at the bottom of the leg. Thanks for watching the video and your comment! ** The flange at the base of the legs is seen at 7:42 **

The newer solar panels have an integrated light sensor so I am not familiar how to fix them or if it is possible to change the sensor. Sorry . . .

Over the last seven years I’ve used similar pumps (of two different brands). At home the sewer clean-out is 100ft from the RV. The pumps overheated and eventually failed until I actually read the directions and found that I was overloading the pump with excess back-pressure. I now use two hoses in parallel and the pump runs cool even after running through the black tank and gray tank running almost constantly. Also, gray water (leaving the valve open) will drain through the (not-running) pump, but it will likely damage the pump after a while. (I learned all of the above the hard way. Four ruined pumps.) I haven’t done it yet, but I intend to spray some red paint on the ends of all the hoses and fittings I use for waste water. I have anti-siphon valves on both ends of the hose I connect to tank flush. And one final: Camco makes a garden-hose-to-sewer adapter, which I’ve been using.

Does water go down into the steel tank where the bladder is or is that strictly air down there?

Thanks for the question and watching the video! The steel tank contains water from the pump. The air bladder is also inside the tank and is filled with air at approx 17psi. Like a balloon inside the tank. This helps to regulate the water pressure. The air bladder still maintained air pressure and did not fail. The tank failed (severe rust) and would not hold water. The air bladder is pressurized via a Schrader valve at the rear of the tank.
